London Help Needed
« on: January 16, 2006, 09:11:02 PM »
On my return from KBP I land at LHR.   I then have an overnight layover before my morning trip to the states that departs from LGW.

I want to spend the night at the Gatwick Airport Renaisance hotel (I have stayed there before and like it).     Question:   Can I take a train from LHR to LGW or what else can I do.   I don NOT like the tube.    Was thinking of taking the Heathrow Express into downtown, then the Gatwick Express back to LGW.   Does this make sense?

Without using the subway, what other options do I have?

OK i changed my mind going to stay near Soho at the Radisson.

Radisson Edwardian Kenilworth Hotel
97 GREAT RUSSELL STREET

I am assuming I can take the heathrow express into town, then a taxi from Paddington Station to my Hotel--

In the morning I am going to take a taxi to Victoria station and then the Gatwick Express to Gatwick??

Is this about the best way to do it????  I really don't like subways so I would like to avoid it....

I'm no London expert Richard but I'm sure u can take the Heathrow Express from LHR to Paddington overland. I worked on that line with Spie Enertrans, French company who encouraged 3 hour lunches in the pub - excellent!

Victoria to Gatwick sounds good, again no tunnels (well no long ones).

Only the taxi drivers to worry about then!
