Freeze all defined pension plans in the USA for all government employees (state and federal) and make people work 40 years for social security (work less than 40 years no social security, 30 years for women with a child).  Solves the debt problem.  Most companies have adopted the pension freeze 10 years ago.  You should get paid a yearly salary and only get a bonus and 401K match if the government meets performance targets.  Meeting performance targets should be voted on by the people each year.
