My wife has a friend named Iryna who will be in the DC area for two more weeks. When she returns to Simferopol, in Crimea, she would like to correspond with a nice American guy if she does not have enough time to meet him while she is here.

There are enough single guys here in her age range, but apparently they are looking elsewhere  or holding out for a 25 year old lady.

Too late now, our friend will be on her way to Canada in a few days and home to Ukraine in two weeks. Maybe she will pursue this with an agency when she gets home, but this was sort of an experiment for her.

Iryna looks lovely! I don't think that it is too late for your wife to register her on one of the American dating sites. New members often get featured by the sites, and so receive more attention than usual. I guess Iryna still might be able to appoint a few meetings with men in D.C.!

I suspect the issue isn't age - rather, strip away the sacred blue passport factor and the fantasy element of romancing a woman from far, far away, and maybe the appeal just isn't there  

In the back of those minds dwell 'ownership' ISO 'partnership' IMHO.

There are folks from all over the world that fly to Germany to pick up their new Mercedes (or other luxury brand) right as it rolls off the manufacturing line.. sorta like being 'there' at birth, somehow expecting that to be better deal than going down to their local dealership.

In the end though, the warranty is the same and someday it will end up on the second hand lot or scrap heap.

Sad but true, women are often treated the same or even worse.

Lily, she has been in the US (her daughter lives in the Washington DC area) for the last two weeks and came to our house for dinner earlier in the week. She is only in the US for one month. Iryna will be traveling to Canada soon and then heading back to Crimea.
