The castle also has another name "The Castle of Love", it was the original name. The first structure was built by a romantic retired Russian general after Russo-Turkish War (1877—1878), his name is known.
After the castle was purchased by a Moscow merchant woman Rakhmanina, she renamed the castle into "The Swallow's Nest. After her Baron von Steingel became the castle's owner, he rebuilt the castle.
