Молодец !!

You just saved considerable expense - and learned in the process. Usually a leak will
necessitate the purchase of a small washer or fitting. If something begins to leak again
in the future, you've already got first hand experience in the disassembly.

Determination is one of those attractive traits I notice in a FSU lady.

Problem was that it was clogged completely
Aloe, to prevent clogging, you can use a cheap implement variously known as plumber's friend, force cup, plumber's helper, plunger - a tool consisting of a rubber suction cup attached to a wooden handle:

When you notice a sink/basin that empties more slowly than usual, put it on the hole and pump up and down a few times ;).

Good luck sucking out long hair out of the multi-layer thing under the sink. I had to pull the hair itself very very very very hard to rip it out of there, cuz it was wrapped around everything. There is no way in hell you could create suction power that strong with a plunger.

No more combing my hair over the sink  ::)

Congratulations Aloe!

Next time try this:
http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-Products-400-Drain-Cleaning/dp/B000BO9204
It is called a "Zip-It" and it only costs 4 or 5 bucks.
It really does work.
Good luck.

Aloe-

Good job...

But one of Sandro's recommendation is actually great thing to have , at least if that's what he alluded to when he said 'plumber's helper'. We use the same label here, but more commonly called ' '.

The one shown on that video is technically the very basic form of it. The industrial version is actually attached to a rotating equipment, like a drill, and generally have a longer reach.

Just for info so next time you won't have to labor over dismantling the sink. But good job anyway!

The sink "catch basket" to which she is referring is different from what we have here in the US. There's no way in hell the roto tools will navigate it. It has to be dismantled and cleaned by hand just like she did.  I spent the better part of an hour cleaning LONG hair out of oe not long ago... it's a pain!'

Here is a picture of what im talking about, the one on the left is what it is. A large part of hair gets wrapped AROUND the central tube, with the rest of the hairs stretching out into the pipe going to the right, thats going into the sewer, so there is no way to get it out from outside.

Aloe good job in cleaning that.
The chemical which they offered is also available and can do the job, but by cleaning it manually every year or so it will extend the general life.

Perhaps you can get a job as plumber now ?  :D
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

That's excellent Aloe. I can see how the snake would likely be rendered ineffective with that configuration.

Did you disassembled the part I circled in red, or did you have to actually disassembled literally everything?

Aloe,

I am impressed.  Many years ago, I would do most home repairs.  Plumbing is not easy.  Please stay away from electrical circuits unless you take a home repair course.

One should not underestimate what a RW can accomplish.

You are not the only FSUW who does this.  These are exerpts from my chat with one pretty woman who buys and sells flats, doing all repairs herself:

Quote
I  am doing  repair  by  my hands.  I  business woman  and  hard  working  builder// people  shock from me..

I chenged  floor (from  reall  wood)  by my  self

I chenged  pipes  and  I built  bathroom by meself.. I aslo  in shock  from me.. I just  I ase  my Dad.." Dad is this  difficult  work  for woman  to change  pipes in flat?'  He  said   yes difficult "BUT  ______ YOU ARE NOT  TIPICAL  WOMAN!!"

even I connected  new  kitchen....and  any any drops....everything I did new in bathroom and  kitchen....I connecte  all pipes// I FIRST UKRANIAN  PLUMBER!

Aloe, you the man! :applaud:

Judging from that picture, it looks like you could unclog the sifon by using a wire clothes hanger. Just use a pair of pliers and bend the end of the wire clothes hanger into a skinny "J" or "U" shape, add another small hook at the tip end. Now, just run it along the outside of the central tube, to loosen the hair and then pull the loose hair out through the drain hole. I have no practical knowledge that this might work, just looks feasible from looking at that picture.

Excellent job Aloe! May I recommend a small screen in your sink so that you dont have this problem again? Long hair can clog a lot of stuff, including bathtubs and those can be difficult if not impossible to clean. I usually put in some quick acting non toxic chemical to just melt the stuff I can't reach.
