Greetings to one and all...
« on: October 01, 2010, 06:03:35 PM »
Hmmm, what an interesting site.  I sort of stumbled onto this site by accident; it has intrigued me so I joined lol.  Let me first start off by saying "Hello" to all other members (and I suppose guests).  Though I might not become an active member, participating in active discussions or such, I would like to keep this address saved since it does seem to offer valuable insight into what I consider to be my future goals in life (and obviously easier ways of achieving them).  With that being said, I am posting this introduction about myself not as an advertisement for my present status (I am unfortunately very particular about what I seek), but to "activate" this account.  In layman's terms, I am not here to search for a spouse but merely to demonstrate the seriousness of my endeavours and to maintain a valuable source of advice and information for myself.

So, a little about myself and what I am seeking in life, alright here goes:

I am an Ojibway Native American/Irish Canadian.  For the most part, I live a very simple lifestyle and therefore, am not a very materialistic person.  Its not that I shun possessions, I just find that I generally don't need them.  With that being said, I am also not a rich man.  I take enjoyment in the simple things in life like nature, thoughts/conversation, sleeping in and of course, a good cup of coffee.  Even though I am very much a dreamer, I live a very solitary life grounded in reality.  I am not adverse to hard work; in fact, I revel in it.  I also enjoy the spontaneity of any given moment.  I take great care in my appearance but I am in no way vain.   I wouldn't say that I am a difficult person to get to know, but I can be very shy at first meetings.  At times, I am also a man of few spoken words, if only to observe the situation and to better listen, sometimes actions do speak louder than words.  In life, I always let my heart lead; my mind is usually never far behind.

My first passion in life was the culinary arts; which combined both my love of science and artistic creativity with my love of travel/exploration.   It has enabled me to cover the extent of my own country, working and exploring as I went along, to the boundaries of this continent.  As I journeyed along, I expanded my mind in order to learn everything and anything I could to better myself.  Though I strongly believe that no matter how much one excels at any given skill, you can never truly know all of it; a person therefore should never stop learning.   When faced with a lifetime of mistakes, I will learn what I can, then accept the things I cannot change; to err is human.  With this humility, I have learned to enjoy the finer things that life has to offer: a good vintage, choice delicacies, and definitely an appreciation of the right company.

Unfortunately, as it rarely does in life, my passion for cooking began to wane and slowly wither away.  I still enjoy cooking, very much so, but it was then at that point in my life that I decided I would try my hand at creative writing.  Over the years, it has become a long and demanding process which up until now, I have had limited success with, in part due to much procrastination.  I have always loved working with my hands so to sit at a desk feels a bit unnatural to me.  I enjoy the flow of movement, like dancing or walking.  Luckily, I am a very loyal and devoted person. It also doesn't hurt to have excellent culinary skills and experience behind me.

I am an avid reader, consisting mainly of classical literature.  Over the years, I have gained a great appreciation of Russian writers such as Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Chekhov, and Pushkin and have admired the portrayal of  “the family life” in their collective works.  An ideal defined by its unified strength, trust and loyalty, yet one in no way perfect.  As the years slowly draw my days to a close, this is what I want most in life.   I love children and have always considered my self of a loving and nurturing nature; even stern, when it was needed, but fair.  Of course, I would be dishonest if I didn't mention that I find that it would be easier for me to create a family of my own then to try and take over someone Else's (though not impossible).

Love is also in no way perfect.  So I naturally don't seek perfection but merely what is perfect for me.   A woman should be defined by: hard work, humility while sacrificing for, and accepting what is best for all, simplicity of needs, and wisdom.  A lady should be defined by: intelligence, elegance/grace, adaptability, betterment, and wit.  I seek an intimate companion who will embody characteristics somewhere in between the two; where the lady and the woman meet.  Above all else, love for me is very important. With it, at the risk of sounding cliché, any barrier can be conquered.   I would never marry for the sake of convenience.  I want to share my life, not give it away.

Lastly, it is a difficult task to build trust with someone you have never really met; it will take time to cover ground over long distances.  The traits I value above every other quality in a person are patience, understanding and honesty; not just to others but also to oneself.  As for physical attributes, I very much enjoy natural beauty. The type of simple beauty you love to wake up beside first thing in the morning, never at their best, but very endearing none the less.

Thank you for listening,

Neal W. Syrette

Looking at your heritage, you might find it interesting to explore the Russian native Siberians.
It will show that you are part Russian.  ;D
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Welcome to RWD Neal W. Syrette!  :D

Your introduction on the surface seems thorough and complete yet, a bit contradictory. Why the interest in Russian Ladies? Did you encounter some and question their sincerity? What led you here?

I'd encourage you to stick around and contribute. It's a great fora where help for the newbie is paramount and the veterans are old hat (to many anyway)

Hello Neal W. Syrette,

Welcome to RWD. You seem like an interesting fellow. I hope you will stick around and post once in a while. If you do plan on going to the FSU, I'd like to hear about your impressions afterword. In the meantime, enjoy this site. There is a lot to be learned about Russian ladies, our relationships with them and their families, and everything else about their culture. There are also a ton of interesting topics through these pages.

LOL You cannot change who you are...
I also cannot fathom a reason to hide oneself from the world around them; I believe in honesty, not deception.  This is who I am; I allow people to make their own choices about me.

Hmmm, so many questions... where to start?  I've never been to the FSU, but I would very much like to go, especially to St. Petersburg.  To be honest, I would love to reside there (and ultimately plan on it someday); I'm inspired by the history.  Also I am in the way of thinking that the climate is similar to that of my own country. Something different yet something still the same (hmm, contradictory?)

Funny enough, I was led to this site by the word "monogynopaedium"... lol, I searched online for the word and came upon this site, there was an interesting thread about it and I learned my first lesson about the inefficiency of online translators.  Upon perusing the site I decided to join, if only to have a guide for future reference.

I'm facinated by the Russian culture and history... by their intelligence and their passions...

I tend to feel that the generations of the past offer an excellent foundation for the building of one's future...

Actually online translators are extremely efficient, however people have too high expectations of what they do and do not know how to use them correctly.

Online translators will give a more or les exact translation of the original text, however without interpreting the translation. Interpreting is taking the translated words and through context re-arranging them in to common used language, while staying as close to the meaning of the original text as possible.

If you know more than one foreign language, interpreting online translations in to correct texts becomes very possible, even highly complicated ones. However if you wish the online translators to do interpreting for you, you will be disappointed.

St. Petersburg is a great city to explore Russian history.  If you go be sure to take the "City Tour" bus.  It stops at many historic places.  Also visit as many Tsar palaces as possible, they too are a great source of history.

Hello to a fellow Ontarian ;)

Welcome to the forum Neal. I join 3T_Ventus and Manny that your intro post is very well written, and even resembles to a textual part of a good profile which is missing photos:)   I almost thought that your avatar picture is you, till I read that you are into cooking and, given that the guy on the picture looks rather like being underfed to me  ;D so it wouldn't be you then :)

It would be a good idea for you to go to StPete. However, I personally don''t think that there are many Russians nowadays who would be fond of cultural traditions and who shares your hobbies. There are definitely a few out there but probably not many.

In case you are sometimes in Toronto, feel free to drop me a line. I grew up on Pushkin's things and heard Tchaikovsky as my lullaby when I was little. Perhaps we can chat on the things that interest you.

Da, da, Canada; Nyet, nyet, Soviet!
