Its a bit sad
« on: November 10, 2010, 04:41:56 AM »
I was reading the code of conduct and well its a bit sad

that their could be guys out their that dont know you hold doors for ladies, pull out their chairs take their hands getting out of cars, help them on with their coats

And OMG  scratching, picking, blowing anything when eating

Im 47 and I do know I was raised a bit dofferent then lots of my friends especially the younger ones  my father was the wwII generation and if we didnt open doors for my sister while he was getting the door for my mother we were in trouble ( and I didnt even like her when we were kids ;)

Maybe its a sign of the times, but even when you travel with your wife or girl friend imo  she shouldnt be carring heavy luggage you should, its not that shes not capable but come on are we not men anymore
Just my opinion but when we act like men and do the things that let a lady know she is cherrished a relationship will keep growing

Well-bred men are rare nowadays. Is it possibility of accusation in harassment that makes them avoid taking care of women?

It is only ignorance, lack of good breeding, selfishness and most of all apathy. Good breeding and manners are always appreciated even if seemingly unacknowledged.  Every time my 11 year old son holds a door open for a lady, it makes me prouder of him.
Truth and Honesty are good companions to keep

I blame the parents here in the south. It seems every generation gets worse too. though she passed 16 years ago I can still feel her about to thump me on the head if I act the slightest bit rude. I find most the women I meet on the street now almost take offense to having a  door opened for them, or some random act of kindness.
they've grown so used to the avoidance and lack of respect and proper manners that they don't teach it to there children either. I find it very disheartening
May all your days be blessed.
