East Russia

Has anyone had any experience in East Russia, I was talking to a girl from Khabarovsk today and I really liked our conversation. Are there any agncies in East Russia or should I stay away from any agencies? I Checked some flights to Japan/China/South Korea to East Russian cities and it is about double that to West Russia/East Europe, any input will be helpful....:brightidea:

I am not sure what you are driving at in your poll.  I believe you are looking for guys who have been to the far eastern cities.  The furthest East I traveled was the Novosibirsk region, East of the Urals, but definitely not Eastern enough to qualify for your East.  Sorry, I can not help you.

Thanks for your reply Bruce, I am used to a Bruce from Europe replying to posts, hows the weather in NY, were cold as heck in Amarillo now.

Slick, look at it this way...............chances are there have not been many Americans who have visited or corresponded with alot of the women you may be corresponding with in the Far East of Russia.  Figure out if just one, a few or many of the women you are writing / viewing are real and honestly interested in you and consider going.  However, keep in mind that chances are you will have to go back again, especially if things work out with you and a girl.   I'd figure flights will go up and flight times will go down over time...........but there are other people out there who are flight experts.  Its definitely a road less traveled and there probably have not been too many "ugly Americans" to give the locals a "good" impression about normative behavior for you.

Thanks again Bruce for your reply, I have alot of experience in flying to other countries(good and bad) I'm just fishing for information on East Russia, it seems to be an untaped market for relationships.

I have heard that not many men go to Eastern Russia, so you get better pickins and less competition over there.  I also have been as far as Novosibirsk but never to East Russia.

If the airfare going west and through Japan is a horror, check out possibly going east, to New York, then Moscow, and then to your destination city.  It will be more flight time, but it may very well cost less.

BTW it was fairly warm and sunny today (2/17) in New York, but the forecast says cold weather is on the way.

My wife is from Vladivostok.  I've spent some time there.  I guess it depends on what you are looking for.  There are all kinds of women there, you would still need to take your time to get to know them, especially if she is under 30 without kids.  I thought it was a very romantic place. Still do, in fact.

You could try Origin Club in Vladivostok - they have a website, probably listed on google.  The other agency in Vladivostok doesn't have a web site that I know of, they are called Scanna (no relation to the other Scanna here in the U.S.) but I've heard they are good to deal with if you just walk in.

Personally I find Vladivostok to be best at New Year.  The flights are cheaper (especially through Moscow on Aeroflot), it isn't raining like it does all summer and the white snow makes things look much cleaner.  Plus, residents mostly have vacation for ten days so more time for meeting(s).

I met a girl from Vladivostok in St. Petersburg recently, and I  researched my options in case I wanted to visit her in her home city.  It seemed to me the fastest route from the US east coast is to fly into  Tokyo and grab a connecting flight to Vladivostok. NYC to Tokyo is  about 14 hours and there are a number of airlines that offer nonstop  flights. The distance from Tokyo to Vladivostok is about 500 miles.  Vladivostok Air has, I believe, two flights from Tokyo to Vladivostok  per week, perhaps more frequently in the Summer months. There's also a  ferry between Japan and Vladivostok, but it's a 36-hour voyage. Going  via NYC-Moscow-Vladivostok takes at least 24 hours of travel time.

I could be wrong, but I think they have a direct flight now from Seattle to Vladivostok. It seems like I read that some place.

I couldn't find any flights from Seattle to VVO in July for what it is worth.  It WOULD be a very cool trip.
