Home From Ukraine & Trip Report
« on: October 28, 2011, 10:07:07 PM »
My trip reports will be as I can have the time to do them and thank you for your responses. As far as photos go..I never post personal photos on any forums and I know for a fact my fiance doesn't approve of it either. My daughters are putting up a web site and the link to it will be at the bottom of this report. They will build and add to it as their time permits also.

On the drive into Kiev I was beginning to feel the effects of no sleep, getting to the airport in Atlanta, going through security and then several hours wait until I boarded the plane for Amsterdam, a 6 hour layover and then I think about 3 more hours to Kiev. It's a blur now.
We were sitting in the backseat holding hands, I don't think either of us were nervous even though this was the first time we had eyeballed each other.  She smiles all the time, and I mean all the time and loves to talk. She was excited and I was too after a lot of months of everyday talking to each other, and now the reality of us actually sitting next to each other was putting her mouth into motion for sure.

When we got to the apartment my body felt like it weight tons. Her uncle saw this and carried my bags up to the apartment for me, shook my had and said we hope to see you again soon.

She had really picked out a nice apartment for us. It was warm inside and she had placed flowers and a candle on the table. She held my hand and sorta gave my numb body a tour of it. I thanked her for taking the time to pick out such a nice place for us to stay while we were in Kiev. She hugged me and told me..now you need to call Masha and let her know you are here and all is ok, then you take a hot bath and I will warm our dinner and have it ready for us. She talked to Masha for a few minutes in Russian when I took off to the bathroom.

That hot bath did wonders but my body was still somewhere between Atlanta and kiev. She had fixed a simple meal for us and not tried to overload my stomach so it would help my jet lag. She had cooked eggs, pancakes(delicious pancakes) and a sausage I had never eaten before not even in Russia and they were very tasty.

During the months that we had corresponded it was very intense a lot of times and we pretty much had covered each others lives, the personal, the good, the bad and the happy times. We had a lot of discussions about our children and grands which we both have.  When I got there we both agreed that night at dinner that it feels as if we've known each other for a long long time. Because of this intense correspondence we had we pretty much knew everything about each other and was very comfortable being together alone and not trying to make a just met conversation.
We had a pleasant and sometimes funny dinner conversation without being nervous or wondering what to say next. All the time she was babbling away and looking at me with her beautiful eyes and smile I was going to mush and feeling blessed that I was the one that had taken the time to romance her and was the first to be invited to visit her. I think we both knew that night at that dinner table that this was a done deal between the two of us.
She asked me if there was anything special I wanted to see in Kiev, I looked at her and grinned and she started laughing and asked me is that what's called a loaded question in America. She got me to laughing then so I told her I would like to see the aviation museum and she said no problem.

She said now it's time for you to go to bed and I'll clean the dinner table and that;s exactly where I went and was asleep almost immediately.

I don't think there is anyway I could talk to a lady for a short period of time and then fly to meet her nor go through an agency and have a go between along with us. I'll give some insight from her and some of her friends later on in another post.

You can find our web site at http://ukraine.m3sitetest.com and I have no idea when the girls will think they have enough photos on it to open it.
