That is not so easy. I can't do that, because I feel myself like a betrayer. But I know that is dating's golden rule though.

Jerra, I know exactly how you feel. Don't worry, there will be a guy who will be just right for you. DO NOT change who you are.
To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead. Thomas Paine - The American Crisis 1776-1783

The OP answered the debate long ago..?

 :welcome:  Jerra,
You seem to have the same international dating experiences of my wife, and many RW,and have a good sesne of humor about the process.

I wish you good luck, and a lot of patience.

Amongst all the various difficulties, there  are success stories.

One ingredient in almost all of them, is the couple approached it with patience and respected the difficulties on each side of the situation, instead of glossing over them.

thanks I think so!  :flowers:

She complains that men chat for years and never visit girls.

But it seems that a few men have already visited her. They were probably the "meet many girls at once" type.

But if the men were of the type "meet this particular girl", they failed. She is too young to commit and she is pleased when many men come to see her. It doesn't cost her anything. She can chat with foreigners for 5 years more and date local boys at the same time, she is too young to marry.

Should you visit a 22-year-old girl if you're older than 25? No.

what you are talking about?

I recommend you read posts more attentively. Only one man visited me. And he come to Russia to see only me, not many girls at once. I picked up his from airport to see off on the plane. so I am pretty sure of that.

if you can chat with foreigners for 5 years more and date local girl at the same time. that is your own problem. why you think so about me? if i have relationship with somebody I do not dating anyone more.

if you think that  I am too young to marriage - that's you point too.

You really know how to make a young woman feel good!

First, she did not say psychology.  She wrote the 'philosophical' faculty.  I do not understand the Russian curricula very well, but if true 'philosophy' she will run circles around you and most of us as well.

Second, do not underestimate the ability of an intelligent RW to find a way eventually to outearn you.

Third, any person who volunteers at an animal shelter has a good heart.  My older son does the same and has for years.  He works earnestly to find homes for the dogs, even grooming them and taking them to shopping malls hoping some person will want to adopt one.  And sadly for the dogs that do not find homes, he gives them their 'last walk' and makes the dog feel loved before euthanasia.

Fourth, curly hair.    :D

thanks, Gator! I appreciate that.  ;)

The man came all the way from Wisconsin.
What was his type according to her classification?
1. Sex-tourists
2. Chatters
3. Married
4. Old
5. Insane
6. Scammers
7. Real, ready for relationships and marriages

He can't be real because no relationship has ensued.
He wasn't a chatter because he flew so far.
Apparently, he wasn't a scammer, old, married, etc. It would be obvious during video chats.

So, he was a sex tourist who had paid $2,000 to meet her and got nothing.

who knows

we had great time. He was in Russia in the first time, he got at least great guide and companion.

by the way, why you so often mention that money?
seems like you had not nice trip to Russia and  got nothing. Isn't it?

So what kind of profession should a RW obtain in Russia that would get her successfully and gainfully employed in the West? Will you give a couple examples?

Thanks,

P.

I would think a musician/music instructor could have some success Piano, guitar etc.. cash n carry.

A RW we know was a gymnast and is doing fairly well also.

An artist.

A chef/cook.

There are so many Russians around that there are probably far more willing to teach Russian than learn so that's probably out.

Education might be good also since there are ways to have university transcripts translated and accepted.  Math, physics, engineering.  Would probably need to brush up and take some additional courses but possibly not be stuck with having to 'do it all over again' as someone in the medical or law field.

Writer / author.

Software programmer / graphic artist

AE (adult entertainment)

this just off the top of my head in a few minutes time.

Well, I only count professions that allow to support a person/family 100%, not making an occasional buck here and there.

Ok, one by one:

An artist. Unless super talanted and popular - no serious money, maybe a change sometimes if lucky.

A chef/cook. I don't think you need any education to become a line cook in the US. Mostly - very little money anyway.

There are so many Russians around that there are probably far more willing to teach Russian than learn so that's probably out. - Nope, mostly nothing serious, unless they get really lucky.

Education - depends on the specialty within educational field. If science and math - very possible provided English is good and license exam is taken successfully.

Math, physics, engineering. Depends, better chances in large cities.

Writer / author. - Have no idea how this can translate into any money, unless has a name already.

Software programmer / graphic artist  - Those are the most transferrable from what I can see.

AE (adult entertainment) - Probably :)

So, Vincenzo, stick to programmers - your best bet. :)

Jerra,

Welcome, I recently began looking for a relationship with someone overseas.  It so happened that the first week I posted my profile I found and am now dating a woman from Krasnoyarsk.  I have my first trip planned to meet her in about a month.

She happened to start looking at the same time I did and she posted her profile on the same week as I did.  The next week we began talking on video via skype and got to know each other quite well.  We found out that we both liked each other very much and had many things in common.

I am very fortunate to have a well paying job that will give me a month off to travel abroad and I have a frugal attitude toward money matters so I have enough money to make the trip and have fun doing it.

You sound like a great gal who will probably have to walk through a lot of "weeds" to find the fruit you are looking for.  I would highly suggest staying on the free sites and away from the agencies if you can.

Also in my humble opinion the best catches are caught right away and not let go.

FYI I used freepersonals.ru but there are other sites that are N. American based which are free to use for dating  okcupid.com  and plentyoffish.com  oh and guys here in the US don't seem to get serious about marriage until they are over 30 years old.

Stick with it and I am sure you will find a nice guy. :)

Some truth with that.  Even guys in their 30s can still be players (as experienced this past month by my Cossack Woman's 22-yo daughter who is staying with me while studying at the university nearby).

Jerra, you mentioned that the AM who visited you was young, early 20s.  Not many men in that age group have the money and time to make this happen without some financial difficulties, especially in today's economy.  And those particular men probably  have plenty of action with AW.  It can happen, but it is a long shot.  If that is the age group you seek, I suggest that you stay with RM, find a good one, become certain about him, and build a life together.  Possum is a fine example; his posts reveal him to be an intelligent and sincere RM.   Although Possum is indeed special, there must be a million RM who come close to being as good as Possum. :D  That always puzzled me because I have met many nice RM in my travels to Russia.

about 30 000$ ... it must be a joke, right? what dude will pay that a round sum for my education?

:deadhorse: if you know that dude - just give me his phone number

Thanks; however, you are too young for me!    And I do not want any more babies.  :whew:

Seriously, the actual annual expenses would be much less, probably $15,000 for full-time study, dependent upon the university.  A large part of the $30,000 is for a student room, which you do not need if you are exploring the possibility of marriage with the dude.   That amount is not small, yet many men can afford such an expense, especially for the woman of his dreams.  If a man can not afford such an amount,  I believe marriage to him would be severely constrained financially.  Nevertheless, love conquers all, except the IRS (the American taxman).
