Hello from Kansas
« on: January 20, 2012, 10:53:18 PM »
I have been reading your forum for a few days and thought I should join.  I am a 22 year old "old fashioned" guy that really isn't in to drinking, smoking.  I have been working since high school and feel like I have it pretty good.  I farm for a living and really like where I live at, it is beautiful, safe and it is extremely cheap to have a nice living here.

What I don't like is the lack of women.  There are virtually no women in my area (18-24) who want to live in a rural setting out here.  They all go off to college and move to the big city.  I have met the few local women here, and we really didn't match.  I have tried online dating sites, and had similar results.  So I found this site and hopefully I will find a chance at something real overseas.

My plan is to search for someone on a trusted site, get to know them for at least 4 months and if I it works out go over there and pop the question and see what happens.

Good job on the website, it is very informative  :clapping:

Welcome to RWD Countryman.

Probably not a good plan.
You are young (this is a good thing).
Don't rush into this!
You need to spend as much time as possible with your prospective RW.
For example, I made several trips over to the FSU courting Marina and spent 90 days on one trip staying in her flat.

They all go off to college and move to the big city.

I have got some bad news for you.
A lot of RG's want to leave their "villages" (countryside) and move to the "big city".

Stick around and ask questions.

As others have stated, most but not all, RW who live in the smaller towns or villages aspire to move into a "city". Those that live in the cities enjoy that lifestyle and would be ok in the suburbs, if it is in driving range of a city. I never met one who wants to live in a rural, farm type of environment. That is not to say they do not exist. But if you go onto some dating sites, I would be very clear about where you live and the aspects of your area. Be honest. And do not waste time on those that think that only 5th Avenue is the place to be.

Now that is just down right funny!  I showed my wife and we both had a good laugh.

On a serious note, I think it possible to find a FSUW to live on a farm. It might take a while to find one. My wife said she would live on a farm, but it would have to be close to a city.

Do you farm mainly wheat/corn or do you have animals as well? If the former, then you might have months of free time in the winter. If you are serious, then you want to take your time and look for a woman who will want to be with you no matter where you may be. It might be harder to find such a woman, but it is possible if you do it right.

If I find someone with a real connection I'll get to know them on the internet until I feel it's genuine.  Can't imagine going over there and staying for 3 months at a time.

I lived in the big city and I felt the exact opposite about it.  I didn't like the traffic, noise, pollution and crime.  I can move if I had too, and it is pretty easy for me to find work.

I work at least 10 hours a day all year long, when I am busy it is 14+ hours a day.  I farm wheat, corn, soybeans, vegetables and when that is done chase cattle around.

Is it really so easy to sell a farm, pick up and move, and buy a new one these days?  Just curious.

Is it your father's farm? Do you work on a farm? The question still stands: what kind of farm is it and does it allow you to leave the country for extended periods of time?

You're only 22 so trust me when I say this. Chasing women is a lot more fun than chasing cattle. After you catch a girl, you have to....use your imagination on what to do to her.

Focus on RW living in small towns that you've never heard of. They're more likely than city girls to accept a country lifestyle. If some women are semi interested in you, show them some photos of your surroundings. Don't deceive the ladies by withholding info about your lifestyle.

Where will time with a foreign bride fit into this picture.

They require close to 24/7 time.

Maybe countryman's goal is not the woman in the prior photo but one of the farmgirls in these photos.

Countryman,
I am now serious.  Have you seen this website?  I don't know if the agency is reputable, but it seems to fit your situation even if they have focused on Canadian farmers.

I just work on the farm.  I could probably get away with a couple weeks a year of getting away.  I'll make up for long time overseas with other means of communication.

Were you on "To Catch a Predator" with Chis Hansen?  I think I have seen that somewhere before.

Given that it will take a bit more effort for you to find the right woman, spending more than a couple of weeks a year would be highly recommended IMHO.

Gator, it seems all these ladies come from Kharkiv and I can tell you they definitely don't work in the farm.

Countryman, these ladies are city ladies. HOWEVER, you can find a few of them that would love living in what they call "nature." My wife is an MD from Kharkov and she traded city life for a more bucolic life.

Good luck.
