Need info on Badoo

Several have mentioned  Badoo as place to contact FSUW


I have no experience with it, but want to determine if it is  a site that I should add to my list for "Pursuing FSUW 101."

This list contains only those dating sites that are free or that have a monthly pay for unlimited contact with all women enrolled.  No pay by letter or pay  for individual contact, etc.

So those of you  who have the correct scoop on Badoo, please post the rules and procedures here please.

Badoo is legit, it does work. I have used it.
It is still currently free.
You can connect with men/women in cities around the world, by computer or mobile phone (wifi).
It is easy to use and effective.
How does it work? Once you register, you can browse users in a selected city and write messages to them and receive messages from them.

Any site that requires a mobile number for registration is too intrusive and pompous. Some people still do not have mobile phones or if they do, might wish to keep the number private for a multitude of reasons.

I have been using Badoo for several months along with others you suggest.  They all have their pluses and minuses.  I like Badoo for several reasons.
1.  It is free.  Some features require a paid upgrade.  I have not upgraded but am thinking about it.
2.  The free version allows you do send and receive messages, search profiles, etc.
3.  It is a very popular site among FSU women.
4.  One of the features I like is that you can set YOUR location to any city in Ukriane.  The women usually scan to see who is nearby.  I have made many contacts via women that contacted me.  I explained that I am coming to Ukraine this summer and have received many invitations to visit them when I am there.
5.  Once you have set YOUR location to a particular city you plan to visit, you can also then select "Who is nearby" giving you the opportunity to check out the profiles in that area.
6.  It is definitely a site that I will use also when I am on the ground this summer in Ukraine.

The logic behind their business decision to work it this way is simple.
They know the vast majority of their market have mobile phones.

They figure that the advantage of advertising to and farming out the mobile numbers to third parties far outweighs the downside of losing a small minority who either don't have mobile phones or don't want to give away their numbers.

It's simply a shrewd (and pompous) business move.

I opened vk account few months ago to prove you can open acount there with any name you like due to one thread on another forum. Since then I didnt receive even one advertisement from them or any third party on my phone.

I been on VK (vkontakte) for 3 and half years, never ever recieved any advertising sms or calls to my phone. Maybe your making a pompous assumption about their business model
 
As for badoo, it is a good free site, has a few blatent old school scam profiles, but then again what site doesn't. Easy to use with huge number of profiles.

As someone who gets more than their fair share of spam on their landline, I reserve the right to be paranoid about my mobile number.

Remember that in Ukraine, we buy SIM cards without a contract or an ID. We can always change them (for 50UAH) and throw the old one away. So it's not intrusive at all.

And unless someone is under 7 or over 70, EVERYONE here has a mobile phone.

I gather that from some of the posters that Badoo qualifies as a monthly  pay site with no additional payment needed for contacting any woman.

Is this the situation?

If yes, then I will add to the "Pursuing FSUW 101" listing.

I would recommend putting it on your list.  It is actually a free site but has additional features that you can pay for called 'Super Powers".
