this sounds very sad. does this happen very often with am and rw marriages? any stats available?
I don't know any hard statistics.
There was a study/survey here on this site that was informative.
In general though it wouldnt be surprising if this was common?

Generally-
It's two people from very different cultures and with no common *fluent* language.
Also economically different.
They meet and seldom have much face to face time pre- marriage.
With domestic divorce rates in both cultures average 50% or higher,.add in the complexities in this general situation, and it would seem unusual if it wern't higher than domestic?I believe it to actually be roughly the same or less than domestic marriages? but often wonder if that is simply because the overall divorce rate for domestic marriages is based on a larger group with generally far more years of marriage on average. (longer marriages that eventually end add to the rate)and many MOB scenarios would still be in the earlier years of marriage?
