Thanks Gator for your valuable input and I can relate to a lot of everything you're saying. I think one of my failures in Russia actually got started because of her not knowing any English and me not knowing any Russian. Her daughter was ok in British English and was more or less the voice between us and did an excellent job and I felt like she was always being truthful with both of us in her translating.

Lesson for the newbies...try to find a lady that at least speaks enough English so you can communicate with each other. I learned the alphabet but was still a lost soul trying to communicate with her when her daughter had to be somewhere else. I was accepted and treated with much respect from her family and friends but always felt like I was being left out of the conversations even though they would talk directly to me in Russian. I did a lot of nodding and grinning. Because of the language barrier it was impossible to express our feelings about anything especially each other. A hug, a kiss, flowers and candy can only do so much. Sometimes it takes words of feelings to get a point across.

I've met my fiance's family in Skype and on the phone just like she has met my Russian friends in Russia the same way. She has two sisters that do speak English but her parents do not. My friends speak English. She talks to her sisters in Skype and most of the time they use English. She calls her parents on the phone and they speak Russian so I expect a "mixed lot" when they come for our wedding. I'm sure all three of the girls will speak Russian so their parents will understand the conversations.

When we were having lunch today we discussed her family and my friends coming over for the wedding and she was excited to hear me say I think that is a good idea and the correct way to do our wedding. So, she wants us together to invite them this weekend and let them know we'll pay all of their expenses.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as to the visa route to bring them here.
Thanks again for your help and support.

Oh, and you guys in Atlanta. She told me Atlanta has a large Russian population probably around 50,000. She said all the RW she knows live in Gwinnett County where she lived. She told me also that there are a lot of girls there from Belarus and Moldova. We didn't get into a conversation as how best to meet any of them so maybe I can wrangle that out her over the next few days.

Chooter, is that her on your avatar?  8)  What a beauty! Is that a natural white hair?

Did she told you how she initially came to the U.S. as an educator? That must have been a complicated process. Suppose her employer had to file for an H1B visa, and to proof that there is no educators of her expertise available in the U.S. for the position.

Lily, thank you for the compliment and I'm sure she would appreciate that. It is the natural color of her hair, blonde.  You're a beauty also if your Avatar is your photo. .

She has a medical degree and an art degree. She is a medical artist and I hope I get this correct, taught art illustration in the field of medicine.
We've talked very little about how she originally came here. I do remember her saying when she first came here she was also working with a team of doctors and some legal services. She's been here so long that it never crossed my mind to ask her about what visa and who was her sponsor.  We had other things to discuss and our careers took last place when we've been together.  ;D

I'll be the first to admit that I had never heard of a medical artist until I met her. It involves much more than her side of the profession which was totally medical art to doctors and hospitals and teaching and sometimes legal. She never got into the part of it the involves all the medical advertizements and marketing that is done in PhotoShop or any other graphic software that you see in med ads, parts of body illustrations hanging on the walls in doctors offices, etc. It's a highly skilled and talented profession and she seems to think not that many in the US and would be an open field for kids with art and medical ambitions together.

The grands were here for a week so she sets out to paint a portrait of all of them together. Well, two of them have extension spans of about 10 seconds so the only way she could begin to pull it off was to set up her camera. She told them she wanted to do a photo shoot of them and after about 2 dozen she was able to get what she wanted so she could start painting their family portrait together. She told me this is basically the way it worked in her field of medical art on some projects.

She's here for good now and calling it home She and my daughters and two of her friends have still not given me a wedding date so I'm just hanging out I suppose. This could be a surprise wedding if there is such a thing.

Ok guys down in Atlanta maybe wanting to meet a RW down there. We went down to get her a mid size 4x4 truck and on the way down she said she would like to go to Arbat and get some things. I said Arbat!, that's 5500 miles from here!. She laughed and said it's a Russian-Euro food store in Norcross. We were there maybe 30 minutes and saw a good many RW coming and going.

We have talked some about the RW scene down there so maybe I can get it all figured out soon and give you her suggestions to maybe get into their circle if they have one. She seems to think there are several 1000 there. She also told me some things about how some local RW will place a profile on a personal's site and give their location in Russia, Ukraine or one of the other former countries and not here in the US. I'll tell you why the ones she knows do that.  I'm sure some of you in Atlanta that have RWUW you could offer suggestions also.
