Russian rock groups

I will admit that it could just be my pesonal observation, but.  Does anybody else notice that Russian rock groups/singers will come on stage looking like Mega Death, Kiss, etc, but as soon as they open their mouths to sing they sound like Englebert Humperdink, or Don Ho?
