Just received from Russianladies.com :

OVER 50% OF RUSSIAN WOMEN ARE UNMARRIED
Moscow. March 4, 2005 - Over 50% of Russian women are single and many of them have never been married, researchers say. According to the latest population census, 195 out of every 1,000 Russian women have never been married, 190 are widows and 130 are divorced. In fact, "all of them are single", reported Demography and Human Ecology Center chief Anatoly Vishnevsky on Thursday. In the 25-30 age group 239 of every 1,000 Russian women have never been married, 110 are divorced, and 11 are widows, he said.

Interesting. Anybody with comparable statistics for the US and UE ?

That's no surprise to anyone looking at demographics in most countries.  Women usually outlive men and female infanticide practiced in some countries lead a surplus of men.

Here are some stats for the U.S.

"There are 10 million more unmarried women than unmarried men (56 percent female compared to 44 percent male), primarily because women live longer than men. Twenty-four percent of voting-age Americans are unmarried women, compared to 19 percent who are unmarried men."

10 million unmarried American women and American men go the the other side of the planet for a decent wife.  Hmmm. . .

I've told some people about going to Russia and they ask me, "Aren't there marriage agencies in America?"
I looked on the Internet for marriage agencies in the U.S. but I haven't seen any.  Yeah, there are dating websites but few women really stress the marriage angle.

As far as the part of the statics about women outliving the men, yes, that is true but who wants to chase after an 80 year old lady who outlived her husband. Russian or American.

 There are plenty of good looking single women here in the West.

 Why go half way around the world?

Well actually shaddow I figured at 100 I will be up to the 50-55 year olds and I won't get to the 80 year olds until I turn 150 at least.
