Arch, being Indian you will likely encounter some prejudice.  Not all RW, and quite possibly not most RW.  Yet enough that you probably should follow the law of large numbers.  The more irons you have in the fire, the higher the odds for success.

I should add that my blond ex-wife really liked one man from India.

From a neutral viewpoint,  I agree with your comment on Prejudice part, and yes they are prejudices! Sometimes, I do see here in US, can be termed racial, but we Indians too do it best. Shame on us!. And if anyone lives with prejudices, my life would be better to stay away from that person. Prejudices can be from one community to another for many reasons, they are there because things have happened in the past, but not necessarily that's the norm today, improvements do happen. Ground realities and progress are often masked by sensational media and half truth. By saying that, I am not defending that bad things happen ( that's why prejudices came in the first place), but I am saying that we should not judge everybody just because of that.

For example, frequent shootings happen in US schools and many students get killed, so I won't send my kids to US schools or US women don't make better wives, so I should not date US women ( my ex was American, btw). Or let's say all Russians men are not worthy of husbands, because they drink too much! Worst part, all white women are porn stars ( racial & prejudice from far east, because they saw in movies!) or certainly they don't make good wives ( another prejudice). India is still in 1940s and all marriages are arranged marriages, blah, blah ( there would be many prejudices because we have 1.2 B ppl, so many communities/cultures/traditions/20+ mainstream languages, it like huge EU; so it will be so contrasting).

Having said that, I can list far more positives in all the countries  above that out-weigh the negatives and prejudices. The fact is we are a fast changing society and it is about the person you meet and not all are same. So try your best, if it works, that's great. If not, there must be better one somewhere. So if you are losing smart, intelligent, culturally rich and well educated ambitious Indians who represent what's best for 21st century, that's not Indians' problem. If we live in past, that's no longer important - god bless us!

And a joke -> While you are living with your prejudices, Indians might go to Mars ( there is something Indian out here, will like Russians out there!!!) , or who knows which other planet and will take all computers from this earth ( to do IT in Mars) . Btw, we will also leave behind our 'own bad' stuffs here..lol
 
In the end, I bother less about prejudices, and I am looking for my other half; so I am gonna concentrate on her LOL

Arch, India is a frequent place for Russians to visit and many popular soap opera dramas shown on TV in Russia are produced in India and overdubbed in Russian.

That being said, racism certainly remains but over time that will change.

As for Mars, you are likely aware that Russia is now accepting volunteers for a permanent colony on Mars set to lift off in 2018. Volunteers sign agreements acknowledging that they will never return to earth and believe it or not, the programs already has enlisted people. Heya Arch. Welcome to RWD.  You appear to have an excellent attitude.  Of course, you never really know. Indians are renowned cereal killers.  We hide the Frosted Flakes and Lucky Charms when our Indian friends visit, just to be safe.

As to the prejudice... yes, you'll encounter it to a degree in your search.  It has been said a million times here but it always bears repeating. This is a numbers game.  The more with whom you communicate, the more likely you are to find your match.  Even if, and this is probably outrageously high, say 75% are prejudice toward Indians.  If you communicate with 200 ladies, and that leaves 50 who are open to the idea, and from that group, after weeding out the insincere, etc, there should be at least a few who are actually mutually compatible with you.  It takes time, patience, effort, and a bit of money to do this and unless you are very lucky, she won't be in the first group..
