And Let Us All Pray for Their Safety
« on: February 18, 2014, 08:10:26 PM »
We Pray for their Safety .......

As members of this forum, many of us have wonderful friends in Ukraine.  Last evening, local time, I could not contact any of them.  I know there are similar circumstances for many of the members here and their loved ones.

I would like to use this thread to offer thanks for all of the wonderful people from Ukraine, on both sides of this line of opposition.  And offer a short prayer of supplication that they would all come through unharmed.

While many of my friends live in Southern Ukraine, I am very aware that there is great danger that what is happening in Kyiv will escalate across the country.  To that possibility I would hope that calmer heads prevail.

To the people of Kyiv, and in particular, families and spouses of those on this forum, I embrace you and stand with you and shed a tear on your behalf.

And I would hope that you, my friends on this forum, would bow for a moment of silence, petitioning a power greater than our own, that these brave and nationalistic people would be blessed with a wonderful future and an end to the bloodshed.

Kissing girls is a goodness.  It beats the hell out of card games.  - Robert Heinlein

There's only one head that needs to make a decision and that's the President of Ukraine. If he stepped down or at least offered to hold new and fair elections monitored by the UN, there would be calm and peace. Instead he thinks too much of himself to do those things and it's going to cost lives. How many? It's really all up to him.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Just said goodbye to my fiancee and departed Donetsk on Monday, 17 Feb. Have been traveling for 40 hours back to the relative peace of the Rocky Mountains...only to arrive home and receive this terrible news about Kyiv. With rumors about Putin invading southeastern Ukraine (my fiancee resides in Luhansk), I am extremely concerned.

Thank you for your thoughts of concern for Ukraine expressed in the words of your post, jone.

2 days later and over 100 dead and over 500 injured. More important than ever to wish for peace.

Thank you for your post Jon.  As you know my wife and family lives about 1/2 mile from Maiden and has suffered a great deal the past few weeks.   Let there be peace and freedom ring!

Hopefully, they are now speaking again and it all moves in a positive direction.
The last few days were not pleasant, prayers to all who lost someone in this mess.

It appears the Konvict and the other felons, er..., opposition signed a deal.
