Some pics from Ukraine.

We did not have any problems anywhere. No additional security checks or anything. We took my SIL to visit her husband and also took SIL to Kiev where she could see her son and we could all visit Maiden.  It is surreal what happened there.

Thanks for sharing Lonedrake. Once people found out you're American, how did they treat you? Did they criticize our government or still encouraging America to help?
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

I can't say anybody treated me poorly. However, I only know about 5 Ukrainian words.....so they may have been cursing me out....and I would just smile and say "thank you" :)  The only person who was a little upset with me was the guy I returned the rental car to. I parked it in the no parking zone. He asked why I would park in the no parking zone. I said I am sorry I did not know. He said there is a sign right there. So we looked at it. It was a blue X. I said I did not realize that meant no parking. He said it's an international sign :rules:

My wife gave me some shit about it to :)

I still didn't care :)

The only people I spend time with was my wife's family. They were happy to see me and they have even accepted my eating habits. I don't eat onions or much for vegetables. It is very nice to have them understand. I even got to spend a day in the garden planting potatoes :) I will see if my wife will send me a couple of those pics.  I think they thought I would hate it and quit. Now they are requesting me to come back for harvest and next spring.

According to some here, you may be accused of being an American operative sowing dissent among the Russian Ukrainian brothers.  ;)

Nice pics. Hope everyone there is okay.

Nice shots, LD

What is going on there in the second photo?  Is that a memorial?  What is the significance of all the bottles?

This is another pic of the area. Yes those are pictures of all those who lost their lives. I am not sure about the bottles, for some reason I thought they were candles.

Here is a pic from last summer. I watched many videos of the protests and subsequent shootings and I remember where most of the scenes were from.

Thank you Jon or jone :)

Don't worry...you can call me Steve on the forum.  ;) I know some are funny about "revealing" their names....but not me.

I enjoyed the photos, especially the gardening farming.   That's a lot of potatoes!

I visited there shortly after you did it seems. Yes the bottles are actually candles for memorials for the dead victims of EuroMaidan.

One thing that I haven't been able to find out about is the big pink  'paint ball' splats on the burned out building. Way too big for paintball guns and too far away for them so I'm still baffled.

 Anyone happen to know???
