I saw this earlier.  That is one lucky man.

I experienced something similar but not as fast.  Years ago on St. Barths, four of us rented scooters.  When rounding a curve that oddly sloped outwards, I lost control going not more than 10-15 MPH.  I struck a Peugeot coming to a stop, hitting the driver's door.  Even though I was going slow, the impact propelled me over the Peugeot onto the pavement, yet somehow I landed on my feet running down the road. 

That is luck, sheer luck.  Instead of a body covered with road rash, I had only a jammed wrist.  Deaprting the island was another story.
