Hi,

Just introducing myself:

A first generation Briton, I've usually gotten on better with foreign women than Brit women, though all ex-girlfriends have been Brits.

My personal values seem more in tune with FSU women than my own countrywomen. In my quest for a spouse, I visited Belarus around 10 years ago. Prior to the conflict, I was looking to travel across Ukraine for my soulmate. I'll have to see how things develop regarding travel there. UA appeals to me, still.

I'll consider visiting other Eastern European countries except for Belarus and Russia. No offence intended, it's more about the political relationships between governments.

I'm considering relocating country but first need to find a country with a suitable quality of life/lifestyle - by interests/activities, I'm better suited to a "New World" country. Modern Britain - especially in London - is not for me. (Complicates things further for a FSU bride!)

I've been inactive on the dating front but hope to start traveling/searching come Summer.

I've joined this website to learn more, tread safer, mix with like-minded souls and focus my plans to improve my chances of success. I hope this is the beginning of something good...

You may not like living in the UK but you probably won't have to experience the BS every 5-10 years that turns your life upside down as you'd encounter in the FSU. There are women there that are looking for men locally in their town. Mamab.ru is a dating site you can search for women based on their city and country who are looking for men living close to home. Most ladies there are not looking to relocate.

I think a good start would be to download and read the ebook
RWD E-Book, Men of the West - Women From the East,
and read as all the trip reports

As you go along you will think of questions, write them down and you
can either use the search feature or come back here to your thread and
ask them.

When you ask a question you will get plenty of responses, some good
some more dubious. First of all don't get offended, but sift through the
answers considering what you think would work best for your personality
and situation. Keep the good stuff and ignore the rest.

Most FSU women (well, most non-British women) actually prefer to live in London versus the rest of Britain, as it is a way more international city.  Furthermore, London's large FSU expat community can greatly ease the transition of moving to a new country for a FSUW, see this link I posted in another thread:

Since you are open to relocating, that should not be an issue.  Like the other posters said, keep away from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts (simliar to counties in Britain or states in the US).  If I were you, I would keep away from eastern Ukraine (defined as the areas that are Russian speaking or voted for Yanukovych in general, you never know where the conflict will spread).  However, you need to consider where you will find steady work.  There could be good job opportunities there, maybe someone who lives in Ukraine can comment?

I have noticed that Vienna seems to be a popular city for FSUW expats, indeed my ex lived there.  Also popular is Frankfurt, Germany.

This seems to be an increasingly frequent stance. Personally, unless you might live there, why worry about the Politcis of the leader / govt. and exclude 100 million women...

I'm with FunIndieBloke, here. Many FSUW THINK being near to / in London would be great.... Most are city dwellers.
