The ex wants me to take my daughter so she can play with her cousins for 8 days. I don't really have anything lined up in the way of any company. I have a Japanese exchange student that stayed with us 10 years ago that is studying there that I can hangout with. My other two friends that I used to hang with there are no longer with us. It just wont be the same. The dollar is strong. Maybe I should try to meet a nice lady before I go. You know to show me around Kiev since I've only been there about 20 times. Maybe I need to look into an agency. I'm just not sure I want to do this deal.

Greg, are you going to spend time with your daughter?  The reason I ask, if this wasn't a family vacation type of thing I would probably travel to somewhere I haven't already been.

Take your daughter.  Go to some place the two of you want to go to.  Make it a real vacation.  She will be 18 before you know it and you can NEVER get those years back.

I waited until both my kids were in college before I went back to the dating arena.  The result is that both my kids are well adjusted and happy.

How old is your daughter now?  8?  9?  How old is your son?  What's the age difference with the cousins?  Why would you take one child and not the other?  Why does she want you to take her, rather than going herself?

I understand why your ex wants to do this, but I think it is a bad idea.  You are not a fish in water there, and honestly, you could be whacked for $300.

In your shoes, I wouldn't do it, but I would offer a third country, say Turkey or Bulgaria, where you are in control.  Pay for a package, and offer to pay for them.  You don't have to hang out with them, but you could always be lurking in the background.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

I certainly understand your concerns. My daughter has never played with her cousins. My ex wife probably cannot take her 1 year old child so she will not go. I would never let my ex wife take both of my kids over at the same time without one of hers staying here. I made a promise to that focking beast of a ex mother-in-law of mine that she would never get the luxury of seeing all of her grandchildren play together simply because she was so hateful. When the ex mother-in-law draws her last miserable breath then and only then will I let both of my kids go visit. Words cannot describe just how bad I hate everything about her. You know thinking on it you are probably right. She is just focking crazy enough to have me whacked.
