I am also worried...

Maybe they might move people around...put more focus on some countries over others...

Besides moving people around, those in the K-1 department may get overloaded by having to background check everybody more thoroughly since one of the terrorists in San Bernardino came here on a K-1. There's no doubt in my mind our government went to their department to review how they allow people in this country and how they can do better which translates to things getting slower.

The most recent I saw here was Tag and his lady. IIRC he said 4 months cradle to grave, that is pretty good time. Mine took over 13 months. The Obama admin will likely set up a task force for an express lane for muslims. I would not expect others would suffer as a result. Just my thought. Take a look at visa journey to get an idea of what actual times are.

I used the site to fill out the paper work...

Looks like times are 2 1/2 months to 6 months...

I need to research how to get her a transit visa through Canada..

Or I will have to fly back to a city in the USA... Which adds on average 8 flight hours and another 8 car hours...

One option we have is to get a direct flight from Kiev to NYC than take a train to burlington VT.. But that just adds a lot of time and money..

We know you're excited about getting her to your home, but an extended wait might be a good thing.  Imagine bringing her to the snow belt in the middle of winter!   Even though you may tell her about your winters, hearing about them and experiencing them are two different things.  I remember the first time bringing a woman to Wisconsin in the middle of winter.  She practically got back on the plane as soon as she got off, never having imagined winter weather like she experienced.

Bringing your honey to your home in late spring or summer gives her the chance to get acclimated before the annual deluge of white stuff.

What? It doesn't snow in Ukraine?

Winters are mostly mild in my part of New York...

I am not in the snow belt, on the edge of the St. Lawrence river valley.. So we get the warmth from the river...


So far from my observation...  Kivrograd and Moira  have similar weather and landscape...  but i am a short drive from the mountains, unlike central Ukraine...

Besides every one loves snowmen!!  Their is also the ski season to think about...
