Ukraine visa needed at all?
« on: July 09, 2006, 07:59:53 AM »
Question for you guys- I know that last year Ukriane did away with need for visa for USC-if I remember right, it was for subsequent visits within 6 month period.
My 3 yr visa will expire first of September; the interview for N will be around the at same time frame.
I have tried to search for the definitive answer on visa requirements for USC, but can't seem to find anything. Ukraine embassy site seems to say I will still need a visa (it will be over the 6 months by the time I return), but no invitation. Search of this site keeps giving me errors.
I just don't want to be standing on one side of the door at Borispyl (with all of her required documents) and her be on the other side.
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

I don't think there are any requirements for susequent visits.   They are just done away with for visits of less than 6 months for a USC.  You should be fine.

Actually you can only stay in the country for 90 days not 6 months (180 days).

You can travel visa free as long as it isn't for business and you do not need to have visited the country prior to this.

Google Ukraine visa free and it'll give you the page on the Ukrainian consulate confirming this.
I have 7 entries and exits since the implementation of the visa free requirement.  I'm not sure if the presidential decree might expire soon though.

If you intend on doing business or working then you will need a visa.
