Travel Agencies in Ukraine -> Turkey
« on: July 12, 2006, 02:45:39 AM »
Hi everybody,

I am thinking of taking a trip to Turkey with my Ukrainian beauty.
I would like to surprise her with the idea ... and I need info first.

Has anyone been to Turkey and can recommend a good spot on the beach ?
I think most people go to Antalya.
Can anyone recommend a good travle agent who speaks English and will work by e-mail ?

Thanks.
David

Hello,

I will more recommend the agean coast rather than Antalya ... Regarding travel agency, I book everything myself trough the web, this take more time but I have a greater choice and can compare.

Turkey in 20 days now !

For Bodrum, this will be between 30 and 36 (Celcius). What I do most of the time is that I look on gtahotels.com or otels.com (they are based in Turkey), and after I look at tripadvisor for hotel reviews.

Until now I get no bad surprise using this method.

Hi,
Well, that is certainly warm enough for the beach.  Thanks for the tip - I will take a look.

I travelled from Kyiv to Turkey with my beloved 2 weeks ago, she having bagged a 'World Cup' clearance sale package on the Antalya coast (Beldibi), through a trade contact.  USD 200 for 2 all-in, good hotel.  Daft rates booked at 24 hours notice, so don't expect the same.

The Antalya coast is most likely as that is the 'Russian language' coast absolutely dominated by Russians and Ukrainians, and a smattering of Georgians.

It will be too hot now to be pleasant, so September is good, as is the whole Med.  Also good because the kids have gone back to school!  Temps will still be over 30C.

Have no knowledge of travel agents in Kyiv, and be warned that their market is Russian-speaking including Russians from across the border, which means that the internet/phone to budget hotels are an unlikely option.  Google (Kiev Turkey "tour operator") and have a look.  Try incoming travel agents such as

http://www.wumag.kiev.ua/index2.php?param=pgs20052/122   or

http://www.newlogic.com.ua/en/index.php

If they don't do Turkey, they will probably know someone who does.  Otherwise, book flight only through New Logic, and walk in off the street.  Got to be a doddle in September.   Happy hunting.
