I never used VIP service because it takes nearly the same time for the luggage's to come out .......and lastly I was there last month on the 23 June.

The best thing to do is to be sneaky like me and go to the last desk on the left, where the crews check and you will be out much quicker. Last time it took me only 3 minutes.......because I had only a carrier Bag.

Don't ever use a desk manned by a very young Blond officer........ she takes more than 8 minutes to check your passport..... she does not know how to type.....LOL

Good luck and use your 50 dollars you may have to pay for the VIP to have a drink or dinner.

Good luck

Carry some of the forms with you or grab one really quick and fill it out while standing in line.

Yes, I have used it several times, and it has been wonderful, a Godsend.

But note: I am disabled and tend to walk slowly. Thus, lots of luggage is a major problem. Plus, in one case I had my two cats with me.

Why are you considering it?

I used it once, then rightly got the clue bat from jb.

Nice girl meets you in the walkway and takes you over to the vip terminal in a little van.
Your luggage will get transferred to the vip terminal.
You get a cup of coffee and can watch tv while the forms get filled out.
You get to chat flirt with the other passengers in a lounge type setting.
My visa got registered (this was back when Ukraine still required a visa).
Your baggage may get a little extra scrutiny, but might get away with minor transgressions.  I brought a case of wine (think only two bottles allowed) and just shrugged at the customs guy when he told me I was over the limit and left.
Probably takes more time than going the normal route. IIRC about 40 mins or so (there were about 25 passengers being processed and I was last).. guess I was not a regular and classified as a low-grade vip.

All in all was an ok experience but probably would not do it again.  I can see where some folks may have reasons to justify it.

Yes but you forgot to mention how much it cost you the VIP service?

Well the two brunette officers (Tatyana's) on the left have cost me nothing during my 12 times travelling to Ukraine and they are both a good flirt!... ;)

Is this a blond joke? It might apply to 80% of the RW. Only their hairdresser will know.

No it is not a Blonde joke!

The many times I went through Boryspil Immigration I noticed that there are around 6 female officers and the 4 are brunnettes, one black and the other one is the blond!

Could it be co-incidence that I nearly every time I see the same faces? I don't think so!

Oh, this must be the blond who got me in trouble first time. I was carrying Ukrainian currency when I was leaving Ukraine (maybe the equivalent of 50 US dollars) and she gave me a rough time so I left her queue and luckily I encountered a Ukrainian student who was returning from visiting the US.  I exchanged the money, got back in her queue and she refused to believe I had exchanged the currency. I was sent to a room to be searched by a very serious, unsmiling guard. Actually, they are all unsmiling people at the airport.

Last time I was in Kiev, There was 4 flights landing at the same time and I had to wait for 2 hours in line. I believe I have met your blond lady as she had checked my passport , spending a long time to look at the photo and at my face several times.... If I can avoid such experience again, even for a few dollars,  this will be good. I know I will be tired from my trip (14h) and this is just to get more confort ...
Same about Ukrainian money when I was leaving Kiev last time ... I gave my last kopeck to the driver and the officer does not want to believe that I get no money with me ...

Well my experience with the blond was my first time in Kiev and I noticed that she took 8 minutes for each client to check. Then I looked on the left to the two brunettes, Tatyana's and they were clearing clients at the rate of 3-4 minutes and I was wondering why?

Any how when she was checking my passport I noticed that she was typing in the computer with one finger! When she let me through after asking me all the usual silly questions, I snicked around the other desk and looked to see why they were much quicker. Both were typing fast on the keyboard and that gave me the answer. I think now they have readers because last June I was let through in no more then 2 minutes and I had a joke and a laugh with her.

One think is noticeable that they are more relaxed now and they do not ask for silly questions and I did not see any customs officers checking when I was living and I had over 500 Gryvnia with me to buy cigarettes on the duty free.

Not sure but I think the American flights arrive together with a Lufthansa and also a Moscow flight so they can not cope.

My experience was exactly the same with 3 or 4 flights arriving at the same time. There was a group of US Homeland Security officers, on my flight from Dulles, who were escorted to a special line that moved extremely fast. Took me 90 minutes to get through and another 45 minutes in customs and locating my luggage. I was worried the people waiting for me would have given up.

It's a roll of the dice if it will really be much faster with the vip service.
I went through there last feb and I was fighting off taxi drivers within ten minutes tops.
The longest it has been was maybe 45 minutes.

I have never used it and have not had any situation or delay that would make me consider it.

Seems like a waste of money - unless you enjoy the VIP treatment.  8)

My last trip inbound was the 17th or so on one of the 2 flights from the US.  As usual without having to go to "short" line I made it through with enough time to visit the head before my bag arrived.  I have yet to make it through with my bag waiting for me.

To me VIP wouldn't be worth it.
