Bad news in USA and FSU parent reactions
« on: October 03, 2017, 02:49:20 PM »
Have you other fellas experienced this?

Wife's parents are intelligent and knowledgeable folks, and have a good idea how the USA is laid out.

Despite this . . . they inquire anxiously if we are OK after every 'bad' event anywhere in USA:

Storms
Earthquakes
Fires
Floods
Shootings
etc.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Why are you surprised? The USA is so big that one of these events probably happened near where you live at the same time as the one that was being reported in the news!  8)

ML, the parents love you. Show them your love and call them every time a Ukrainian rebel kills someone or ammo depot blows up or violent protest is happening in Ukraine.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

I drove thru Vegas Sunday mid day, but no, my MIL was not worried after hearing some news regarding the incident.
I was also 36 miles from rockport,tx at the time of harveys landfall  there . My wife was concerned, and my MIL   may ask if I'm near an area like that ,or how I am,  but she has a good grasp of geography and doesn't overreact about such news.

Lol ! no.

Obviously two different news events on two very different dates .

Both cases I was working in those areas ,on the dates news events occured is all. I really havnt experienced the reactions mentioned.

To be honest many of the FSU things bantered about here I have not noticed.
1. My wife easily admits when I'm right and she's not.  She even recorded such for me lol.
She also apologizes when appropriate. Nyet problemo.
2. She's a good  safe courteous driver.
3.I can't recall the last time she's worn high heels,or cared about any certain brand of makeup.
4. While a strong personality and opinionated, she easily listens to additional information or opinions on both sides of topic, so doesn't define stubborn.
5.isn't the least bit superstitious.

Basically seems to have  none of the more popular fsu woman stereotypes.Nor does her mother.

So , I think my wife and extended family scammed me and are really from the west.Perhaps Kansas. An elaborate hoax. But a good take on the accent.

To what end , I just havnt figured out yet.
;)
