My wife's got the steel trap memory. Although I can honestly say
she doesn't often bring up the past, she does alter her own
behavior to help prevent the infraction from ever recurring. The
ex-hubbie is still in the doghouse.

I'm surprised that this thread has lived this long. It seems to
me that early responses handled the title-question well. If you
think her English ain't so important, just wait 'till she:

1) loses her temper (she's likely to forget English altogether at
that very moment...)
2) has her feelings hurt (do you really think your tone of voice
will soothe? My wife, for example only, likes a soothing tone, but
substance of words rule the day.
3) feels frustrated, insecure (common 90-day symptoms)

Body language and self-perceived telepathic sympatico are
fairly useless when the heat is on. Good luck though, I've
been wrong before...
