Tokyo 2020/21 Olympics

Olympics’ first trans athlete defies science and fairness in quest for gold
Quote
It’s official: For the first time ever, a transgender athlete has qualified for an Olympic team. New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard was selected for the national team on Monday and will be competing in the “super-heavyweight” category in the sport. Born biologically male and originally named Gavin, Hubbard transitioned in 2012 after competing as a male in juniors matches. Hubbard’s first competition after transitioning, in 2017, was a blowout. The local New Zealand Herald reported at the time that “Hubbard, 39, won the women’s over-[198-lbs.] division at the Melbourne event, setting four unofficial national records in the process. Hubbard lifted a combined total of [591 lbs.] — [42 lbs.] better than silver medalist Iuniarra Sipaia of Samoa.”It isn’t a coincidence that the first transgender athlete to make an Olympic team is a biologically male weightlifter, now competing in the female division. If you were a gambling man — or woman, they’re *interchangeable, after all — you’d bet that the trailblazing transgender athlete in Olympic sport wouldn’t be a biological born male in gymnastics, nor a biological female in a male weightlifting division.

Florida governor DeSantis head this off the pass in his state by signing a bill banning 'transgender females' from competing in women's and girl's athletic competition if their biological gender at birth is not female. He got a ton of heat for it.

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/state-politics/article251813533.html

It was immediately met with contention and labeled this, at the least, 'controversial' to outward condemning it saying it 'alienates the transgender community' from 'equality and fairness'.

LMAO! These snowflakes are definitely whacked! Little wonder they're a dimwit voting lot.

I'm 4 square against transgender athletes competing as women when they were born as a man.  I don't see how on earth this can be allowed.  The transgenders will start to win all the women's events.  It will be ridiculous.  They should be welcome to compete but compete as men only.

EUGENE, Oregon, June 27 (Reuters) - Competition at the U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, was suspended on Sunday after temperatures topped 109 degrees Fahrenheit (43 Celsius), officials said, the hottest ever recorded in the town.
Events on the final day of the U.S. selection meeting for the Tokyo Olympics were scheduled to resume at 8:30 pm local time.
A historic heat wave rippled through U.S. Pacific Northwest this weekend, and the National Weather Service (NWS) said on Saturday it would likely be "one of the most extreme and prolonged heat waves" that has ever been recorded in the area.

Japan earthquake: Magnitude 6.0 quake shakes Tokyo Olympics Josh MarcusSan Francisco5 hours ago comments
Quote
Authorities warned, however, there was no threat of a tsunami, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The quake, which struck around 5:30am local time on Wednesday, has an epicenter about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from land, deep off the coast of Japan, according to preliminary reports.
Strange that there was a warning that there would be no tsunami.
Quote
The quake first occurred more than 6 miles deep in the waters near the town of Hasaki, which is about 75 miles east of Tokyo, according to the US Geological Survey.
Anecdotal reports from witnesses suggested it lasted between 20 seconds and 3 minutes, and didn’t cause any damage. Australian journalist Mark Beretta was in the middle of a live broadcast from on top of a temporary broadcast tower when the earthquake began.
“Welcome back to the Olympic city where we are currently in an earthquake, an earth tremor,” he told viewers. “The roof above us is moving and you might notice our lights and camera are moving as well.”
“That was quite an unusual moment, I have not been through an earthquake before,” he added.

LMAO! Reminds me of the 8.0 Alaskan underwater earthquake last week. They warned Hawaii about a potential tsunami because of it. It never came. I’m sure for a few hours it scared the bejesus out of these poor Hawaiians.

BTW-

I did noticed that either the Japanese Olympic Committee, the IOC, or maybe even NBC made a marvelous decision to shut out all stupid side 'cheap political' stunts like blm, etc..from any coverage. So damned refreshing!!!! I already gave up on the NBA, almost the NFL (stayed, when they shutout coverage of idiots kneeling), for that stupidity!

Olympics----Krystsina Tsimanouskaya
« Reply #9 on: August 04, 2021, 08:20:57 PM »

On 30 July 2021, Tsimanouskaya recorded an Instagram video criticising officials from the Belarus Olympic Committee (NOC RB), saying that they had forced her to run in the 4 × 400 m relay race, a distance she had never contested, without her consent, after other athletes missed doping tests and were not allowed to compete due to a lack of tests, which she also blamed on the NOC RB.[12][13][14] On 1 August 2021, Belarusian media reported the attempt to forcefully return Tsimanouskaya to Belarus. The Belarusian Sport Solidarity Foundation (BSSF) called for journalists and members of the Belarusian diaspora in Japan to meet Tsimanouskaya at Haneda Airport in Tokyo.[15] She drew the attention of police officers at the airport terminal, who took her into protective custody at an airport hotel overnight.[13] Tsimanouskaya said to journalists that she was afraid of returning to Belarus,[16] and intended to claim asylum in Austria,[17][18] where she often trains.[19]

As the news hit international media, several countries, including the Czech Republic and Poland, said that they were ready to offer her a visa and protection.

Tsimanouskaya qualified to participate at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 100 m and 200 m events. On 30 July 2021, during the Games, she accused officials from the Belarus Olympic Committee of forcing her to compete in the 4 × 400 m relay race without her consent. On 1 August 2021, she was taken to Haneda Airport by her team against her wishes, where she refused to board a flight back to Belarus, and was given police protection before being granted a humanitarian visa by Poland, to which she traveled on 4 August.Tsimanouskaya qualified to represent Belarus at the 2020 Summer Olympics, her first time,[4] in the 100 m and 200 m events. On 30 July 2021 (postponed from 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic), she finished 4th in the first round heat of the 100 m event with a time of 11.47.[5] Prior to the 200 m event, Belarus Olympic Committee (NOC RB) officials withdrew her from the competition.[6][7][8] On 2 August, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected Tsimanouskaya's request to annul the decision of the NOC RB to stop her from participating at the Tokyo Olympics, stating that she was unable to prove her case.[9][10] On 3 August the CAS clarified that Tsimanouskaya could not prove she would still attempt to compete at Tokyo while she was in the process of seeking asylum in other countries, and it was on this they based their judgement.[11]

LMAO! Fudge me...Tokyo 2020 Olympic's Kumite Championship. This is why Olympic competition is a scam! For the final competition for the gold, what better competitors to have than fitting an Iranian vs. a Saudi's Tarig Hameda...

Tariq was up in points 4-1 against the No. 2 seed, Sajad Ganjzadeh, when he knocked the sh!t out of the guy and loses the competition.

They had to get the dude back to consciousness so he can get the gold medal. Very funny!!!!

The receding hairline and Adam's apple make him look just like Miss America. I don't have a problem with ADULTS trying to change genders but there have to be limits on some things. Honestly, the crazier the LGBTQ community gets the more to the right I move on social issues.
