That's sad news I/O. I remember him well, may he rest in peace. I don't remember the particulars about his wife other than he did marry were they still together?

No, they split up a long time ago. Oldest child is about 14 if memory serves me correctly. I haven't had direct contact with him for a while.

I remember, way back when, that he posted here about his proposal and the gal said:   I will need to think about it for quite some time.
This was after several prior meetings/trips with her, as I recall (but my memory might be faulty on this).

I thought  OMG . . . he is still going to pursue her !!

She was from Dnipro which was one of my favorite cities in Ukraine and I was familiar with many of the places there that he wrote about during the courtship.

Wow.. way too young. Kurt was a wildcard and also funny as hell at times. This is sad news indeed.
