i think that is the best modern example how a "good" revolution can happen...

And there is nothing wrong with the fact it was organised and paid from aboard, is not? Yeah?:?And what Ukraines in Donetsck's area think about such "revolutions" dose not matter as well

America as an independent country began the day WE DECLARED OUR INDEPENDENCE from English rule. No treaty was required! We kicked the collective asses of the English back to England in disgrace, our independence was won with the blood of men willing to fight and die for their freedom. NO treaty gave us ANYTHING!

The Treaty of Versailles was the formal recognition of America by foreign powers, it had nothing to do with the de facto independence of America, it merely made it de jure.

the 18yr old cocky terp in tver tried to tell me as if she knew better than i did that we have had only one major war on our soil, that being the revolution.

i tried to explain the bloodiest war in our history, taking more american lives than no other was the civil war. i do not think she heard me.

then there was that little matter of 1812.

Amarillo Slick,

I just read all of the posts relating to your question.  I think you have found that there are some pretty antagonistic people here when it comes to religion and God.  If you can overlook these things, most of them are fairly nice to visit with.

As for your question on Christian women;  my wife (we got married last Saturday) is from an Orthodox background.  In spite of this, she is not lacking in the understanding of what it means to be a Christian.  I can credit this to  a wonderful grandmother who taught her as a child.  In my wife's home town, Kriviy Rih, Ukraine, there are full gospel churches, Baptist Churches, Jehovah Witness :X, and of course, Orthodox churches.  My wife knows some good people from a full Gospel church, as well as a Baptist Church there.  One very nice gal, from the Full Gospel Church, is looking for a husband.  My wife is trying to help her in this search.

It may be harder to find what you are looking for in Ukraine, but if this is where you are being led, then continue your search. If you wish some help or information on my wife's friend, leave a note and I will give you my e-mail address.

Best Regards,  Frank.
When in doubt, run!!!!!!!

Frank,

Congrat's on your recent marriage, I pray that it is happy and life long. I am suprised at the response to the original post, and I do not hold any grudges toward anyone because I know how heated discussions on religion and politics can get. Best of Life (because I don't believe in luck).:D

a few more thoughts on religious based or back government.

let's see, tom delay, born again christian facing so many ethics charges even the right is now asking him to step down.

harry stonechiper (i think that's his name) resigned from boeing because he was violating his own rule against extra-marital affairs..

it seems every six months or so the local paper reports the embezzlement of funds from the local church, by church going church employees.

then there is that nasty little matter of all these catholic priests doing things to little boys that normal people like me do not even think about. and i was an altar boy! here we have a society of religious men, trying to tell my congregation that normal sex between the opposite sex is "bad" if we are not married and if married, only for the purpose of having children. but gee, it's ok for a priest to make millions of otherwise normal and healthy people feel guilty while they butt-f**k their little boys in the basement.

these are a few reasons i would not feel any "safer" if my government was religious based or backed. as a good jewish friend of mine says, "i have been robbed by more jesus lovers than anyone else". same thing the so called "christian" director of the company i invested in said about his former christain partner that stole all the money, left his family and job at the church and disappeared, never to be seen again.. ..nothing this director has promised has ever come true.

being religious does not guarantee anyone doing the right thing. a person with principle and ethics normally will, even a religious one.

You're going to have a much higher rate of sucess finding what you are looking for by using your churches organization.   Ask your pastor if there is a mission to any of the countries in the FSU.  Going that route to finding like minded christian girls will be far more fruitful.

What you define as christian is a totally different meaning to most people in the FSU.

Seems to me that religion was made by men.  Previous to organized religion there was much worship of idols and women.    I think some powerful men in their time did not like worship of women and so evolved to our present system of Pope, Bishop, ArchBishop, pastor...    None are women....

I did not forget, just omitted...    And our blessed Virgin Mary is now over 2000 years of age.   Yes, there are some women whom have been sainted.

Actually, my posting of that web address was in favor of helping those Christian men searching for a woman of a like mind, not in stirring up a debate.  Sometimes we do things just for the good of it.

Believe it or not.

jb,

my point is that no woman is of prominance in our churches.   Yes, there are some associate pastors in protestant churches, maybe a bishop...    Never in College of Cardinals..

So??? I don't think anyone posting here is hoping to marry a Cardinal in the Catholic Church.

These guys are simply looking for a woman who is compatable with the way he views religion.  It is my humble opinion that they are barking up the wrong tree if they subject religion as the criterion for marriage, but it's their life.  Personally, I'd much rather marry for love.

:shock:I am a Christian man from the USA but not part of an orginized denomination. We call my kind of Church her non-demonitial, and am looking for a girl from the FSU who may have my same beliefs. My question is, am I looking in the wrong place or is there Charasmatic churches there I could visit instead of using an agency? I have condo's in Eastern Europe but not in Russia.

Ask your pastor if you have any branches/chapters in the FSU. Ministers really like their congregation getting
married. If you are nondenominational the odds are far less that you do. If there are none, go figure out which
stripe of mainstream Christianity most closely resembles what you are now, then repeat the process.

Udachi!
