Crazy Russian/Ukraine Doctors
« on: September 07, 2006, 11:14:27 AM »
Ok, I have dated and made friends with many RW/UW in the past few years, and I have noticed a recurring theme. Doctors over there are crazy! Or maybe not so crazy depending on how you look at it. It seem like everytime a woman goes to the doctor, cold, flu, pain, whatever, she ends up being told she has "some problems with her female organs" and requires frequent exams and injections. The doctors frighten them into thinking they will not be able to have children in the future if they don't do this, gynatology exams, and payment for the "injections"

I have personally heard this same story from 4 different women, including my current girlfriend. Started with my first Russian girl, very young, very beautiful from Volgograd, she caught cold, went to the doctor and he told her it was because of her short skirts, and that she probably damaged her female organs too. Next was another Russian girl, same thing, but not the short skirt excuse. Next was a friend of mine from Ukraine, also young and beautiful. She kept telling me about "medical problems" and finally she explained to me that she had to have weekly exams because she was told that she will not be able to have children without treatment, she is 21 years old, and had no pain at all! Finally my current girlfriend related this same story to me about many of her friends and herself included. She told me that the doctors even tell the girls they must have more sex in order to cure this problem! Ok, that's good news for all of us, but really what the hell is going on?

Is it a national conspiracy? The sad thing is most of the girls believe it as absolute truth, I had to convince my girlfriend it was total bullshit, she finally figured it out for herself this summer when she was home visiting family. She went to the doctor for back pain, she is tall, and it's been a on-going problem for her, and what do you think Doc told her? Oh yeah, it's because of problems with her female organs! She didn't go back there, and now she knows I am right and that something really weird is going on. Anybody else hearing these same stories? It's quite a scam, and I feel bad for these girls.  - Dave

Come on!!!

Gynecologists make a lot of money. Old story. Remember a joke about your doctor who has bad news and good news, and good news is he is buying a mercedes? Well doctors are not different here.

A quote: if you want to get sick, just visit a doctor. Like a good policemen in Russia should be able to find fault with a lamp post, a good doctor will find problems with the healthiest person.

So I am not the only one to be told that! More sex and more sex to feel healthy!

Of course is true and good for us...........lol

BTW have you noticed in Ukraine that you will find an ABTEKA (Pharmacy shop) in every corner?
Good business to be in......lol

IIRC in the corner of a pharmacy in RU I saw a discreet but visible selection of sexual aids and paraphenalia, batteries included.

Many of my FSU lady acquaintences have mentioned that docs (female and male) there told them they should have frequent sex to cure or forestall some problems.  But it probably is true and good advice regardless of where the doc is from.

But on the subject of drugs, I have found the FSU people to be quite against the idea of taking prescription and/or non prescription medicines.  I carry a small pharmacy with me on my trips and have cured many a minor ailment of the ladies, but only after a lot of argument with them.

If you apply your common sense, you do not have to be a doctor. Simple things.

Welcome SBs,

Sounds like you've experienced both Russian doctor and local doctors. Can you relate your experiences with both so we know where you're coming from?

So a girl that likely wears a mini-skirt when it's 30 below zero goes into the doctor with a cold and the doctor says stop wearing damn mini-skirts in the winter you'll catch a cold! Blank look. So he adds, and you won't be able to have babies!

Or a ditzy bimbo walks into a horny doctor's office and everything requires a check of her female organs.

C'mon now. No. Russian and Ukrainian doctors are not in general incompetent or sex maniacs. Use your brain. The original post tells alot more about the particular women you choose to associate with than about Russia.

Agree with Albert, a female Russian gynecologist told me that it was important for women to make frequent use of their reproductive organs.

Agree with Jooky about competence.

So...if a guy is going to visit one or several women it would pay for him to suggest to these women see their doctor before he leaves? Maybe he will not have to wait for the third date? :)

I take offense to this comment Jooky, my current girlfriend is one of these girl's that believes what the doc tells her. She is an intelligent, University educated girl, so what are you trying to say?

As for the competence of Russian/Ukraine doctor's I have my doubts, in some cases. I'm sure a doctor in Moscow is pretty much up to western standards, but in the smaller cities, I doubt it.

I think "grandma medicine" is part of the culture, and the real docs probably still use it in the small towns. Are you trying to tell me you have never heard YOUR intelligent Russian girl tell you something completely off the wall regarding medicine, or treatment of some ailment or injury?

Sorry, but encouraging a young girl to have sex because she might have some problems with her female organs sounds a little strange to me. I didn't just hear it once, but several times, I have a few friends on Lucky Lovers that have related the same type story to me. So all of them are ditzy bimbo's?

In the U.S. doctor's over prescribe medication, that's part of OUR culture, but do we question it? Half the country is on anti depressants, so does that make us idiots that just do what the doctor says? Maybe it does.

Our experience, which has been far greater than I would have liked, is directly contradictory to your doubts. Problems obtaining high quality medicines? YOU BET! (We have them shipped from Germany.) Problems with facilities? Once again a resounding YES! (Had there been better facilities available in close proximity, my wife's Mom would still be with us.) But as far as competency, we've seen nothing to indicate it is sub-par, even in a tiny little town of 70,000 and it's outlying surroundings

I think "grandma medicine" is part of the culture, and the real docs probably still use it in the small towns. Are you trying to tell me you have never heard YOUR intelligent Russian girl tell you something completely off the wall regarding medicine, or treatment of some ailment or injury?
Sory dude, haven't been exposed to any voodoo other than the wife going to the APTIKA and picking up some Thera-Flu when I had a sore throat. Of the several surgeons I've had the opportunity to converse with, they all apeared top notch, and well read regarding western advances (even if they didn't have the equipment to duplicate the procedures in their tiny river town 300 miles East of Moscow...

Having a fiancee who is child of two doctors I can honestly say that there is nothing wrong with the education and experience level of doctors in the FSU. I have seen quick and very good diagnosis on problems and no reason whatsoever not to trust.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Yes, dude, a woman really should have more sex in some medical conditions, it helps to massage her female organs and it prevents serious desease sometimes. And it was proven - it helps.
I think people from country that leads in having cancer just have no any rights to discuss any medicine at all. Sorry. All your doctors know - antibiotics (when it is not necessary and by the way it harms your organism a lot!) , antidepressants ( you are right, it makes people more idiots, it is not the solution of initial problems), and surgery, when your "perfect" doctors just not able to recognize cancer (f.e.) in its only begining. Why they can not do it? I don`t know. They are very bad at diagnostics, a lot of my friends faced it. Doctors are afraid of lawers if they make mistake, that`s why they decide not to do ANY sometimes urgent decisions. I live in US but I will go to Russia for total checkup. I can tell doctor here more about my problems ......then he can tell me.  Sorry, but your really good medicine just too expensive for average person, and you average medicine is much worse than medicine in russian small city.  :'(

Jinx,

I apologize for my abrasiveness. There is was no offence intended. I simply see too many misconceptions about 'Russia' here and elsewhere where I was just reading about the value of precious toothpaste or some other nonsense.

I think you are way off applying a few personal experiences you have heard of and generalizing that Russian doctors are crazy or incompetent perverts, which is what the orignal post seems to imply.

If a doctor stated that sex is healthy and so on, I don't doubt it and I agree with them.

If the type of women you associate with are young and beautiful as you say and more likely to attract the sexual advances of a doctor in a culture where sexual harrasment is not an issue, I am not surprised (this is what I was thinking with my comment).

If the women you associate with come from poor background and have experienced shoddy medical service because of this, also I am not surprised. By this I mean no offence. It's a fact that most of the women we meet in Russia come from poor backgrounds, and what we often see does not reflect upon Russian society, but rather poor Russian society.

Imagine flying to the US for the first time, getting of at LAX, being driven directly to East LA where you spend a week in a home with bars on all the doors and windows, eat from the local taco trucks (not bad actually!) and have a visit to the LA County hospital. Then you're driven back to LAX and that's your experience of the US. You would probably think the US is an abolute shithole with the worst medical services in the world. In fact LA County hospital is the absolute worst hospital I have ever set foot in, and I have visited the hospitals for the poor in Russia.

I'm not saying that that's your experience, but that's the type of experience a typical guy here goes through when led by the nose on a Russian bride hunting trip.

I will say that in addition to there likely being something lost in translation you are applying what you hear from a few women and generalizing without thinking things through.

And to respond to your comment:

In the U.S. doctor's over prescribe medication, that's part of OUR culture, but do we question it? Half the country is on anti depressants, so does that make us idiots that just do what the doctor says? Maybe it does.

Yes, it does make us idiots!  ;)
