Clothes, Clothes, and MORE CLOTHES!

Now that we are living in the USA, little ms. darth has discovered shopping, American style!  She is amazed that many prices are actually cheaper here, so she buys and buys these "bargains!"

Hey, I'm not the bad guy most people say I am.  In truth, I'm on the right side.  But I'm losing this battle of clothes and need the advice from the experienced guys here! 

Hey, I don't mind keeping my girl beautiful. That's why I picked her!  Or part of the reason    And I don't spend much on my clothes--just my black cape and mask and helmet. 

But is there a limit on how much she spends?  Do you guys put your girls on a budget, or what?

And shoes!  She brought 12 pair here and now has 10 pair more.  Seems like American girls don't buy the high heels, leaving them for ms. darth to buy!

So, married guys-what advice do you have.

And single guys and engaged guys--what is your plan about your girl's shopping habit?

A couple of words - Bebe usually has the right 'fit' (slender) and generally the right 'look' - though my wife is partial to the jeans she finds at, of all places, Shepler's western store. For bargains she goes to Kohl's, or to Nordstrom's outlet store. There are a few others, but those probably gather about 90 % of her business (and my money )

Excellent!  Thanks for the suggestions.  We have a Kohls near us, and I like the idea of a "bargain".

Re: Zappos. They have a terrific return policy - which is something most RW really appreciate once they learn how to make use of it. My bet it - if you give her a little 'taste', you *may* end up with an addict - so be CAREFUL. Imelda Marcos revisited.

Women buy clothes...all the time.... and shoes....all the time...Period. Winter, spring, summer, fall, and repeat process. Let her get used to a 'small' limit on a charge card and empower her to take control of both the spending part, the responsibility part, and when she works, the payment part.

Also, for both your pleasure, give her a Victorias Secret catalog. They are not that expensive and in many cases reasonable. Help her make her selections. Heck, you make the selections!

Shoes: Nordstrom Rack, great place which will keep her busy trying for a while...
Clothes: TJMaxx, Nordstrom Rack, Macy's (when they have sales)

It took me almost 8 years to stop. One day I just looked around and realized that I already have clothes enough till the rest of my life. I spent about 3 months selling them on e-bay for give away prices, and still didn't sell even half.
Speaking seriously, overbuying sometimes is a sign of hidden depression, maybe this is the way she tries to overcome difficulties of the adjusting to the new life.

Keep her busy.  She'll have no time to shop and when she does, there will not be enough time.   Enroll her at the local community college in something or put her to work, where she'll learn how difficult it is to make a buck - maybe then she will not spend so freely on things she does not need  .
