How time flies...
« on: October 26, 2006, 04:11:19 AM »
Well, we are celebrating our fourth anniversary today.

Thought about not announcing, but felt kinda guilty since so many members around here have indeed contributed to our relationship by sharing their own experiences, thoughts and advice along the way.  Especially in these early years every bit of knowledge helps.

Our warmest thanks!

Congrats, BC.

Which year was the most difficult?  Some people say it is the second year.

I forgot to congratulate you two!!!

Second is way harder than the first, though I'll be through it in a few weeks!  Why? 1.  A baby complicates things a lot, though I would make the decision to have the child again.  2.  Your wife will have a tremendous amount figured out by the second year and some of her opinions on things may not jive exactly with how you like to do things.  I say things because it will be mundance every day things that she has a different approach than you do.  Other issues which may begin to grade in a normal marriage situation.  I'll give you a hypothetical example:  maybe you like dishes cleaned off the table right away after dinner and your wife likes to let it sit for a while, sometimes until the next morning.  If that were to happen a few times what would you do?  I assume you'd discuss it and hopefully the mistake would be corrected.  However, after a while she may decide to take liberties, then what happens?  Add up alot of little incongruencies and the second year can be much more difficult.

Congratulations are in order. We're also working on our 4 year as well. It gets a little more easy everyday. We recently had a baby girl and that went great. I married a sweetheart, but thats not to say I didnt think she was the antichrist a few months after she arrived here.
