Hello from Australia!

I've been reading this discussion board for a while now and have been researching, considering and imagining what a trip to FSU would be like.

I've decided to take the plunge so in the last week I've bought some e-Books, joined a "Dating Agency Site" and now joined your fine discussion board.

I'm cautious, maybe bordering on skeptical.  Actually, I think I'm just realistic and hopefully I'll be able to balance "logic" with "fantasy" and find a happy medium.

I have a strong European family heritage and I've already decided to take a trip to visit their homelands.  This trip will take me to Germany, Latvia and Ukraine and I've decided that I will leave an option open to meet a lady while I am in Europe. My trip isn't contingent on having a girl waiting there for me, though obviously if I find someone genuine and there is mutual interest I'd be thrilled to find someone special.

While I have no problems dating at home, I'm frequently disappointed with the ways that dating evolves here.  Call me picky, I just want something different to what I've been finding at home.

So...  now that I've joined the board I hope I can ask some questions and get some answers from the ladies and men that really understand the whole experience.

Anyway,  enough from me for now, but I'll look forward to the interaction this board allows.

There's a wealth of experience here, although I'm guessing we may not be much help with Australian immigration issues.  Most of what you might find interesting is the insights regarding culture and habits.

After a mountain of research I decided to join Elena's Models.  I made the decision based on a few reasons but generally I have an impression that they're "good upstanding citizens within this community".  Something else that swayed me was the structure of their service costs. It just seemed to be more predictable than others I've seen. 

"More Predictable" = "Easier to understand and accept" ...not necessarily cheaper.

I've seen some other sites that looked good and may very well join those as well...  but for now I'm merely a toddler taking his first steps.

I think Elena's Models is a great agency.  My ex-fiancee is a member there and she is very pleased with the professionalism of the agency staff (and the men who write her).

Where are you going in Ukraine?  You may wish to supplement Elena's Models with a couple of small agencies in Ukraine based near your intended travels.

You may find there some interest and with a little caution you can avoid the scammers.

Where are you going in Ukraine?  You may wish to supplement Elena's Models with a couple of small agencies in Ukraine based near your intended travels.

At this stage I'll be going to Kiev because that's where I believe my grandfather was from.  I've located his Australian Immigration papers on line and have ordered a detailed copy form the National Archives.  Once I have them I'll be certain about where he was born and where he lived before immigrating, and that's where I'll be going.

Once I've done "the family thing" though I'm really open and flexible about where else I might visit.  If I "connect" with the right girl I expect I'll travel to her hometown and spend a reasonable amount of time there.

From what I've read on this board though it sounds like it's best to have a "flexible plan" if the intention is to WOVO.

In my early research on UW I think I'd prefer cities like Nikolaev and Kherson.  To be honest though I've actually go no idea.  I think my travels to smaller cities will be based more on who I "connect with" rather than any pre-determined concepts.

If you can suggest good agencies I'm "all ears".

Elena's Models is a Australian agency... If you catch up a RW, they will be able to help you without problem for the immigration... During the hunting, they will maybe help more someone who is from the country... and in case of problem, complain is more easy because business is located in your country...

Yeah,  very true Bruno.  That was another reason for choosing them.  Their offices are on the Gold Coast which is about an hour away from where I live.  Thanks for your comments.
