No DCF indicated for out of country marriages and K3 must be in the country where the marriage has occurred unless marriage is in US then the home consulate handles the case.

Billy,

Don't forget to have your American documents (as required by the Uzbeks) Appostilled.

As mentioned above, Uzbekistan does not recognize the Hague Convention so Apostille means nothing to them.  Here is a second web site that lists the steps and fees involved in legalizing documents so that they will be recognized in Uzbekistan.  Most likely one could do this on their own with a bit of persistance.

http://uslegalization.com/nonpartp/uzbekistan/index.htm

As far as the 30 day requirement, from all that I have read, you don't have to live there for 30 days you only have to wait for 32 days from the time you first go to ZAGS (registration)and the time your marriage actually takes place (might have to make two trips).  This waiting period is actually very similar to what is officially required in Ukraine.  See the last sentence of number 6 here http://www.usembassy.uz/home/index.aspx?&=&mid=226&lid=1&overview=259.

With all of this said, as has been noted,  the US Embassy in Uzbekistan states that the process is being reviewed and is advising that the K1 route might be more advisable.  Also,  you might want to call the American citizens services section at the embassy.  You might luck out and get someone helpful.

Philb,

It looks like that site might be able to to what's needed to satisfy the Uzbek govt. since it takes care of certifications all the way up to the federal level. Thanks.

The 30 day rule was told to me from someone at the embassy over six months ago. Maybe rules have changed now. I've sent out another e-mail to the embassy to get more answers.
