How common is the American man and the Russian bride?
Even though we have this great RWD site with thousands of members, I would venture to guess only 10% ever post here.

Are we really importing hundreds of thousands of Russian women to the US or are some people mistaken?

I was thinking that RWD is but a small segment of our population and many American men married to Russian women do not even know RWD exists.

So what would be the percentage of American men seeking Russian brides?
Surely it is not as high as some people might think.
You have many American men with Asian brides, hispanic brides, etc.
Just how far reaching is the American man with the Russian bride?

I would guess maybe 3%. My family and friends think our country is being invaded by Russian women. If this is so it is OK with me.

I believe I was not even aware of Baltimore's Russian population before 2003. In my city we have a very large Jewish, Russian population. I became aware of it from a friend at work who met a Ukrainian woman who was working at a grocery store.

I am very happy to see the Russian people in Baltimore and my family and I have made many new friends.

What I am trying to get at is that us seeking a Russian wife is probably no different from someone seeking an Asian wife. The fact RWD has so many members is because we have a common interest.

It has become easier after 1992 to bring a Russian woman to the US. Before that, I would have thought it might be nearly impossible. As far as statistics, I was curious as to the percentage of American men married, engaged to or seeking a Russian wife? It is probably not as high as some outsiders may think.

We are a United States and should be welcoming all people who can become productive US citizens or residents.
