Good Moscow/St. Petersburg Hotel Guide
« on: January 23, 2005, 01:30:46 PM »
I posted this link once to the old format, and thought it was worth sharing again. Ed Ryder has this site with reports on about 133 hotels and hostels in Moscow that might prove to be valuable for someone having to blindly choose one. While these reports only cover his own experience, they give one a feel for what to possibly expect. He also has a similar site for St. Petersburg.
Enjoy:

If anyone is wondering why those links don't work, just take the > off the end of the link and they will work.

Here are corrected links that will work just to make it easier.

I looked @

http://www.yel.ru

and now Moscow has it's info on this web site.

Type in Hotel and click on show map. Wow SPb

has a ton. The new Art-hotel near the Hermitage is open.

For Fun! go to Map> hit Other and click on Marriage agencies

Some new ones has arrived. Still crazy in Saint Petersburg.

My favorite is Holiday Inn in Moscow.. no kidding guys.. even has the same funny looking airport/downtown shuttle that they have in the states.  Hotel is much much nicer though. At 90 bucks it's not bad at all since you save big on taxi's to the airport and downtown.

It's about half hour from down town and twenty minutes from SVO.

http://moscow-vinogradovo.holiday-inn.com/mowvg/index.shtml

I like it because you can book online, is very modern, rooms are quite nice,  not too far from either the airport or downtown, the shuttle is free and the two restaraunts they have downstairs (one is tex mex) have decent food you can recognize. For a longer more touristy stay might be better closer to the center where you can walk from the hotel to red square etc but for two or three days or just flying through it's great.

No.. I don't get a kickback ;)

I have not used that hotel, but the information found in the Hotel Link in the left frame indicates it is a 3-star hotel which is freshly-renovated. Sounds pretty good from the description, so if it is convenient for you, give it a try and please let us know how it was when you get back.

To see the description - CLICK HERE - and then search on the hotel name.
