Advice on agencies
« on: January 26, 2007, 02:42:42 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I've just joined yor excellent forum after spending some weeks reading the topics.

I am very serious in finding a wife from Russia or the Ukraine and have spent some time looking at agencies, but not yet registered with any.  Ones that interests me are FirstDream and Loveme.com.

Can anyone please recommend any reliable agencies that they have used and comment if you can on the ones I mentioned.  Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jeeves, please read the trip reports.  They contain the real gems.  Recent guys who have had success with various agencies that I believe you should contact are Twobitbandit for Volgograd, Daknack for Sochi and Av8tor for Tver, Russia.  If I was in the game today I would shoot for Volgograd, seek girls in Siberia, or head to Belarus (though I have no idea where to really go in Belarus).  My wife is from Tver, and it is always an other option I would recommend, since there are at least two good agencies you could work with in Tver.  Sochi is a beautiful place to visit, though it is easily the most expensive of the places on the list.  Its all up to you, how hard a trip you want to make, what sort of agency you want to use.  Talk to the guys above, check out the websites, talk to the owners and go from there.  Firstdream is always a good option to consider and by all means call Jack as well.  It never hurts to talk to as many as possible.  Loveme aka AFA is really large and by all means talk to them, but in my opinion you will have a much higher chance of meeting "Miss Tonight" through the larger agencies than Miss Right who you may meet through the personal introduction services of the smaller agencies who should and usually do know their girls well.  Best of luck.

You would be best served by looking at First Dream and Jack Bragg or smaller in-country agencies.

Use of large "romance tour" groups substantially lowers your chances of success. Biggest is very far from the best; in truth, biggest is probably the worst.

I used ... Antidate... a RW forum a little like these... free and i think without scammer...

Before, i have use freepersonals.ru ... it is free again but i advice you to read carefully these forum before since some scammer populate the site...

About firstdream, if i good remember, it is not limited to the girls on the site... the owner Jack is ready to help you, same if women are from other agency...  it is what i have understand from several trip report... you can use firstdream for a tour and date ladies from other agency... in so case, Jack will always try to have the best price for you...

Hi Guys,

Many thanks for all your responses.  Its truly appreciated and I'll take it all on board.

Michelangelo, I think the cindy website looks promising.  I would like to know more about your experiences with this company, if possible.

If anyone has anymore suggestions, then please post them.

I have also had good experiences with Cindy agency and IDI-Bridge.   They both seem like good agencies.

For a first trip I would highly recommend one of Jacks' First Dream tours.   The extra you pay will be easily made up in the savings in efficiency and in the extra learning you will get from Jack and the other tour members.

In Kiev, Kiev Connections is good and Elena's Models has an office in the Impressa Hotel.

Hi Jeeves,

Welcome!  There are several different ways to do this, but choosing a good agency is very important.

If you are undertaking a letter writing campaign, I offer my opinion about agencies.  There are three types of agencies:

1.  Strictly honest agencies who do not fabricate letters.  I think  Elena's Models is in this category.  Just because an agency is  large and operates in multiple FSU countries does not mean they are honest.

2.  Agencies that may initiate a letter to get the ball rolling, and once rolling, let romance and time take a natural course.  I used Cindy and I believe they work this way at times for older women (35+), and perhaps for younger women too.    It appears that a new female client will write  a general letter about herself and what she seeks, and the agency interpreters will polish it somewhat.  Cindy will then send it to prospective men clients meeting her age requirements.  Is this "acceptable practice"?  I say "Yes"  if the man sends only a few letters (and the cost is not that great per letter to a real woman) to confirm interest and then take a trip.  If the man writes for months, then this is not the way to go.  The subsequent correspondence is real - I was in Cindy's office and observed interpreters reading letters to women, taking notes of their responses, and writing those responses in English to men.

3.  Agencies who initiate correspondence and continue correspondence without the woman knowing, and in some cases the woman may not be real.

Thus, I would recommend using an agency such as Cindy provided you plan to travel within 3 months and you meet many women when you go.  Some men just go without writing and start arranging meetings when there.

In Kharkov, I received excellent, personal service from an agency named All-Beautiful.

The owner, Helen, is first class, she knows her female clients, makes useful insights, and then gets out of the way.

It is good to go to a city with at least two agencies, work mostly with one and use the second agency for Plan B.

If you are a seasoned traveler and enjoy adventure, you may try the agencies such as Free Personals and avoid agencies after getting a name and address.  That is how I met my ex-fiancee (great woman, just too young) and my current lady.

I've used Cindy agency while I was in Dniper, they are a mostly honest shop.  I met some very sincere girls.  I met a few that are just plain trouble, but that's par for the course chasing agency girls in the FSU.

I've heard some weird stores about fabricated letters coming out of Cindy.

If you go to the office in Dniper, you can see AJ's photograph on the inside of the office door.  :)

I don't think this is any big deal but the time I used Cindy was on Jack's tour.   The one girl I met told me they had told her that I had made my trip with the main goal of meeting her and she asked me if it was true.  That was their push for her to meet me.   I went along with it but actually I had no idea who she was prior to the meeting.   I can't say it is a bad thing but I am sure part of their motivations were to generate revenues.

That's putting it rather mildly, isn't it ? I'd say that's scamming both you and that poor FSUW. Is your confession Jainism ;)?

I have talked a few times here long ago about getting involved in this, dropping out for a year and a half and then hearing from and meeting with one of the gals who really had captured my fancy in the first go round.  She had married a guy, moved to S.F.   They separated for a while, worked out their problems and got back together.   I saw her two times during their separated period.

One of the things I can remember her telling me was that when she was living in Tver the agency called her and said there was a guy who wanted to meet her.   She said she did not want to meet him.   They told her he had come all the way from America and that she was the woman he most wanted to meet.   I have a feeling it was every bit as true as it was for the gal from Cindy agency but she relented and met him and they ended up married.   I would bet 5 bucks against a donut that it was made up and just something they said to generate some fees but in that case it worked.  The gal I met through Cindy was not my type but as far as the specifics we would have been a good match so were they trying to con or trying to help fate.   I have no idea but I will give them the benfit of the doubt.  This is a numbers game.   Meet enough people and sooner or later you will meet the right one for you.   I am sure everyone has their hesitations and perhaps a little prodding is more common than we realize.
