BEWARE OF DATING SITES ALLOWING SCAMMERS TO OPERATE!!!

Hello everyone.I am a new member and have joined to alert as many people as possible to this very disturbing fact I have recently.Many of you probably already know this,but for those of you who do not,here it goes.I joined an online dating site a few months back.Since I joined I have been contacted by 4 scammers originating in Russia.These scammers were using a fake US city for a profile address even though 1 site allowed international addresses.After checking out and finding these scammers on a scamlist posted online,I contacted the dating site.I explained that these people tried to scam money,offered all proof with letters and pictures,and asked that they be removed because they were on numerous scam lists,and firstly that the info on their profiles were misleading so that in fact they could bypass some of the scamsites.After a reply that was pretty much auto-generated,nothing ever transpired.I wrote twice more.All they offered was that I should block them,and also had the brass balls to say that since they never contacted me since that I should not worry about it.I even offered many web addresses that showed the scammers with vital info but they could care less.I am currently in the process of contacting Fox News in New York,namely Bill O'Reilly about these sites,complete with web addresses,in hopes that he might address this disturbing behavior,mainly on part of the website owners who knowingly overlook complaints and refuses to protect and to act on behalf of its own honest paid members,some of whom have already been scammed.I was one of the lucky ones who happened to check out the scam list on a hunch,THANK GOD I DID!!Anyway,I am listing these dating sites for everyone to warn you that these sites will not protect you or police its sites.As long as you have money for a profile,you can scam away,without ANY repercussians.PLEASE tell your friends to beware of these sites I am listing.I cannot tell you not to use these sites,but if you are looking to be potentially scammed,these sites will definitely have scammers online ready to take your hard-earned money,not to mention your pride and dignity.So here they are.......www.singleparentmeet.com   .......www.true.com       www.singlesnet.com       www.adultfriendfinder.com          Be sure to watch out for Nigerian scams on singlesnet-I was approached by over 6 in three weeks,and adult friend finder has many women posing as datable women in the US,but when they chat they give you an email address(usually hotmail)that gives another site that is"secure and safe"BEWARE...when you go there you will be asked to join for money.If you do,when you get inside the i.d. and name given by these girls only turns out to be a porn site,usually getting the person who contacted you a quick 30 bucks for something you can get for free online if thats what you are looking for.But of course it is on a dating site which in itself is a scam.So beware,pass this info on to everyone you know who might be or is considering online dating sites.As I post this,I am talking with a Ukrainian woman who I met on a similar site.I have checked a lot of sites to be sure she is not a scammer.Every letter she writes comes from the Ukrainian International Club.They have never asked for money,and claim that they are here to promote the Motherland of Ukraine.So far everything sounds good.Our letters are light and fun,never mention sending any money,and do not fit any type of form or scam profiles.Additionally,the letters are very well written,articulate,and sophisticated.If this really works out,I might be on my way to the Ukraine later in 2007 to meet her in person.Wish me luck everyone,I know that thanks to everyone reporting scammers,I have become a a very educated person.I feel that it is my obligation to pay it forward in hopes that this letter may help others as well.Good luck and Gods blessings to you all in your search of someone special......Doug

Doug, welcome to the forum. All what you said is nothing new or special. Do lots of reading here. Once you get some experience, scammers will not affect you much.

The reasons scammers target American dating sites are because the men their are more naive to the fact it's not easy for a foreign woman to get a tourist visa. So armed with the fantasy of having sex with the beautiful woman landing at their doorstep, they send money.

If it is the site you are talking about, they do charge for translation of emails and for other services, not free like your message implies. Since it is your first post, I wonder if somehow you are affiliated with the site.  Curious.  ???
