Scamming as being overrated by Russian immigrants?

I was over at a Russian party last Saturday and somehow we all got on the subject of marriage (which isn't an unusual topic to being with). Apparently I asked the married Russian ladies (who were happily married to Russian guys immigrated to here in SLC area) about what scammers are like and whether they were frequent.

1) Apparently they said that it's an extremely rare occurrence to have a scammer who is a Russian lady.

2) They said that Russian women are way more romantic than most American ladies... they seem to believe the story about the prince coming to them on a white horse type of shebang.

3) Both ladies (one Russian and the other Russian-Jewish) are from the city of Izhevsk so perhaps I may have gotten a biased view.

4) I certainly got a fairly positive review about Russian women in general. Apparently there seem to be lots more cases of American men abusing their Russian wives (they mentioned many stories of it)...

I guess there you have it... from the horses' mouths the perspective from Russian women living here in the States.

I think it all needs to be taken in proper prospective.
We need to establish what is scamming.

If this means that an advert is placed on the net of a beautiful young girl looking for a western man.This woman starts online relations with many men and then asks them to send money in various way while having no intention of meeting any of them,then I would say that only a very small number of Russian woman would be doing this.The majority if such scams are men working alone or in groups and using photos of beautiful women who may not even be aware that they are part of a scam.Such set ups may have a few women as well who are unlikely in looks and age to be anywhere near the beauties on the site but can be useful when the men want to speak to their girls on phone.

On the other hand there are lots of women who are corresponding with a few or several men at the same time and arranging meetings. Most of there are sincere in finding a man this way but keeping their options open while looking.Some will meet a few men and some men who they promise to meet might feel they are scammed when they(women) pull out or stop writing (because the find a better prospect). These women are the same level of scamers as the men who are corresponding with many and meeting many while looking.

I agree that it is possible that there are more men (Americans or otherwise) who use the internet to find women for sexual conquests then actual Russian women who use it for scamming.

And lets not forget the Pro-Dater. She is a real woman who corresponds with men, invites them to visit her in either her home city or elsewhere. You have a good time feeling she likes you, only for her to ask for money once you are home. Because you already met her and spent time with her your guard is down and you get not only scammed for money but heart break as well. Not to mention the cost of the trip!

There are some Russian women who say scamming or Green Card Girl behavour doesn't happen at all. I do not give much stock in what RW say about other Russians unless the statement has no possibility of being biased to make themselves look good. I guy like you Prince would be a whole lot safer if you believed it possible that every RW you met who showed an interest in you was going to try and pick your pockets clean and/or was measuring you for a mule suit. Of course keep a positive attitude and hold out the possibility that it may not be the case with some of them.
