Wedding Rings: Right Hand or Left Hand
« on: February 20, 2007, 08:00:55 AM »
I know I have seen some discussion on this in the past but was curious as we have quite a few new married members so thought I would throw this out there to see what others do.

And for those of you who are engaged: Which hand will you be wearing your rings on?

We wear our rings on the right hand.

We live in Ukraine so of course we wear them on our right hand.  When we are in the US visiting, they will remain on the right hand. It still seems a littlw strange sometimes, but it is her preference and she feels more comfortable with my ring there, and that's the important thing.

We also wear them on our left hands.  Our wedding rings are symbolic and identical - with a white gold band over a gold band. I may be biased, but I think that they are really something special.  :)

We are not married yet, only engaged as most of you know,  but VWRW has said she wants to be an American from Russia and not a Russian living in America so she opted for the left hand.

Allright, who voted for Nose Rings? Probably Michelangelo...  ::)

TG,

We decided to honor their tradition rather than be one of the crowd so to speak. It is interesting to see how different couples have different thoughts on this. Thanks to all so far who have answered. Time for the rest of you to chime in!  ;D

Thanks Ken,  Personally I don't think there is a right or wrong answer it is whatever makes someone happy.  I think in our case had we planned to live there right would be the right answer.  In America a woman wearing a ring on her right hand symbolizes that she is divorced and available which to me is an extra reason to go with the American Left.

Boy, that sure tells you how out of touch with the American dating scene I am. I didn't know that. Guess I better get Elena another ring for her left hand too huh?  ;)
