Anyone Interested in Writing Up an "Introduction" Page for RWD?

Many of you probably bypass the Home Page of RWD and come directly to the forums - which is fine. However, many of our first-time visitors form their impressions of us by what they see on the entry page, and right now it displays Announcements when they are available (not often), and a scrolling news block to provide the latest and greatest from the FSU.

I do not plan to make any changes in the News block - except to move it lower on the Home Page and put an "Introduction" page towards the top that people will see when they first arrive.

To see an excellent one (IMO - and I did NOT prepare it), take a look at www.GoodWife.com.

If anyone could help out with the text for the Introduction page, we can augment it with graphics and such later.

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'll give it a bash if you'd like... How many words do you need and what's the general message you want to convey?

Once I put something together I could post it in here to have it critiqued by the "old heads" for feedback.

Seeing your OUTSTANDING trip report, I think that would be TERRIFIC!

As for size of the piece - maybe take a look at that "Welcome" block over at GoodWife which seems to be a pretty good size - and like I said, we can augment with photos or other graphics where appropriate.
