Wait a minute----Scott; you are doing K3? If so, that may be it.
K-3 is already married?  If so 'yes' it takes more time for issue of visa!

Actually the time frames have all been the same for my K-3 vs. the K-1.  The only difference has been in sending the affidavit to the NVC.

Scott, from what I have seen, it takes longer for a k-3 vs k-1. I will research this!

Scott, I looked up k-1 vs k-3 and most sites say that it usually takes 3-4times longer for k-3. but, it also tells me that the k-3 is becoming a much shorter waiting period because of some rule changes in the U.S.

I think that's old news.  The longer waiting times were those posted for initial approval of the application.  When I checked before I decided to do only the K-3, I didn't see any difference in processing times listed for a K-1 vs a K-3, perhaps a month at the most at some centers.  Mine was approved in three months and sent to the NVC, so I'm not sure where the delay in a K-3 versus a K-1 would be.  If I was in the US I would have already had my I-864 sent in, so the delay there is not due to a K-1 versus a K-3 but due to delays in the mail.  So what part of the process takes longer for a K-3 versus a K-1?
