Whats with the Nebraska Service Center?
« on: June 22, 2005, 03:20:24 AM »
While I was getting ready to file my K-1, I watched the Nebraska Service Center processing dates.  They nicely went from 3 months to 8 weeks to 7 weeks.  I filed about then, and have a May 02 processing date.  Since then, nothing.  The next posting, which came out almost a month later showed no movement.  This morning they posted again (a couple of weeks later - the postings seem to be random), and they made one day of progress, from March 21st to March 22nd!

Just venting, but any consoling would be appreciated... <smile>

Historically, NSC is the slowest of the 4 regional service centers - and the most UNreliable in terms of their website information.

The only real consolation is that they seem to eventually come through and their processing demands are no more (or less) demanding than any other - so at least you can rest assured they will EVENTUALLY get to your petition.

Sorry there is no better news.

- Dan

My K1 took almost 3 months processing through the Nebraska Service Center. Seems that 90 days is the norm there.

They also seem to do a flurry of K1's all at one time, and then nothing for a few weeks. Perhaps they process a bunch of K1's one week, another type of immigration request the next week, etc.
