Dutch law: payment for not marrying
« on: August 28, 2007, 11:02:31 AM »
A 41-year ol mand originating from Malaysia has been convicted to pay Eur 15.000 (USD 20.000) for not marrying his fiancee.
The now 38-year old woman was living with him since 1999 and was told in 2002 that the man had decided to marry another woman.
The judge weighed that the woman was heavily damaged, as her chances of finding a huband inside the Hindu society were very slim.

Really funny. I now can see how my ex decided to go and living with a guy to the Netherland. :D
It will be a very good deal for her after divorce :)

On the other hand if I divorce in my little country I can even ask the ex-wife (if she is like MAxx ex) for a pension because all I have is rented and Offshore finance is a very interesting field ;D

It is funny to see how different the legal systems are in different countries :P

Is there a law like this in America too, to pay for not kept marriage promises? Surely some women would be interested in finding out about it  :D
