Gal one. She had said she used someone to help with her letters. Finally, in response to my direct question, said she and I could meet without an interpreter, unless I wanted to talk about something important. I presumed this was a trick to see if I wanted to talk about marriage on first date, but I declined to bite. I just said, fine we will meet just the two of us.
She was mid 40s and fairly attractive in face. Body starting to plump up just slightly from the slender category that I crave. Was a bit on the busty side for me (I always picture in dismay what will drop when the bra comes off), but a very nice butt. One of those small round, high ones like many young black girls have.
But true to her Odesa heritage (I guess) she proved a bit prickly at first. She started pulling me in one direction ( I always hate the pullers) and I said I wanted to go in other direction toward a place that had been recommend to me. She said, if you want to go to X (which I didn't), then I am going home. WOW, what a nice beginning. But we both laughed and she seemed mostly OK after that. She took good care of me in restaurant, smiled a lot, and showed me many photos of herself and her family. She showed me two girlfriends who had already married Americans and were living in USA. Said everything was working out great for them. A good sign, and since they lived in different states far from me, I didn't think much about her wanting to just be near them.
But one worry showed up when she showed me pics of birthday party for her 2 year younger brother. He lived in an absolute mansion in Odesa. Big curved stairway, marble pillars in the foyer, etc. Holy sheet, I probably am not going to be able to meet her expectations of lifestyle. They were all dressed in high style at this gathering and everything reeked of big money.
She took my hand to cross a street, and we walked hand in hand for a couple of hours down by the port area etc. Although we walked hand in hand, it didn't really seem like there was any chemistry between us. Then she took me to grocery store to help me stock up on supplies, as this was my first full day in Odesa. She said she was the manager of a competing grocery store near her home. So she was interested in comparing all the prices, etc.
Then we were off to my apartment and she showed no hesitation (same as about 98% of the previous dates that I had asked to my apt) of marching right up the steps, into my apartment etc. on this first date.
At the apt, we had wine, cheese, fruits, etc. For some reason, I felt no real attraction to this woman, so never even tried a kiss.
At about 9:30 PM she said she should be going. I said, do you want me to walk you to corner to get taxi. She said, do you want to. I said yes. On the way, I said do you want me to give you some taxi money. She said, do you want to. I said yes. She flagged down a car and said she needed 15 grievna, which I thought was high by about 5. Didn't care about the actual amount as it was minor in any event, but most rides around town have been less than 10. Then, just as she was getting in, she turned to me quickly and kissed me full on mouth. She said, here let me give you my home phone. Previously she had only given me her mobile. The guy in car was getting upset waiting while she scribbled down her number. She said call me.
I haven't called her, and don't think I will, even though I might have some open time later in the month.
