directions in Kiev
« on: August 12, 2007, 09:37:05 AM »
My wife is going to Kiev this week for her medical exam and interview.  What she doesn't know is how best to get to the clinic on Mykoly Amosova from the train station.  Any of you seasoned Kiev wanderers happen to know the general area of this street and which bus would be best for her to take?

Scot

I am sure Jack has sent you the relevant info.
I am not familiar with this street but I would suggest that she should take the taxi.

Mir, I told her to just take a taxi but she insisted that she had 3 hours to get there from the train station and would rather save the money by taking the bus.  I can't even get her to call the clinic and ask the question.  I think it has something to do with expressing her independence before she comes here and depends on me for so much.  Relating it to another thread going on here, when she expressed the issue of finding her way to the clinic, I did research and gave her the options, expressing my opinion about which was best, then left the choice to her.  If I had not been careful, I could have appeared unsupportive and indecisive, or at worst controlling.
