What are some good sites to meet RW that are IN the US?

I've been trying Mamba.Ru and so far have found it to be not very good. Part of the problem is that the search engine for Washington D.C. (my area) has many women from Washington state!

Are you sure you are searching correctly? I did a search on mamba and specified США as the country, District of Columbia as the region and Washington as the city, and I did not see anybody from Washington State.

Some advice

Do your home work on any RW you meet in the States. Make 100% sheer she is not just trying to find a way to stay in the states. Find out what kind of Visa she is on make sheer she is not desperate to stay here!

If she is on a K-1 visa you might be looking at nothing but trouble

Actually I was using Rambler, which is a similar site. I did a District of Columbia search and many of the names have "washington" next to them and turned out to be washington state.

In that case, create an account on mamba.ru. There you have District of Columbia and Washington, the city.

Also try Virginia. I believe that even when using the English version and they have their profile in Russian they are looking for Russian men in the U.S.

I wouldn't bother with Holostyak.  I finally removed my profile from there.  I got very few responses and the only letters I got from ladies were magically from Nigeria..

Is there a Russian community where you live large enough to support a Russian language newspaper?  If so I would go the old fashioned newspaper personal ad route and see who finds her way to you...  if you include the words "American citizen" in your ad you will get a lot of response.. but....... oh duh.. you already said you were searching in the DC area.. I am pretty sure suburban Maryland has a lot of Russians.  I know a girl from Ufa that is living there.. came on work travel visa.. overstayed.. met an American and got married.. she says she loves him though..

I would also agree with what Mark said about verifying the status of anyone you meet.  Here in SF there is a rather large number of very cute Russian girls that came on the work travel program and have overstayed their visas.  They are in general too shy to try and mingle with the Americans and try to scam a guy into a marriage, but, I know for a fact some of those girls are engaging in immigration fraud with some pretty amazing stories told to USCIS so they can get green cards and other immigration benefits.  All one would have to do to meet some of them is go to a certain part of town and could then fairly safely assume any sexy hot blondes are Russian.  They are surrounded by a chinese area to the east and a korean area to the west so it is obvious...
