In another thread Fiorella mentioned that she knows some ladies from the FSU seeking good husbands. I offered to her that she could invite them to the RWD to post, and exchange information with some of the single men here.

Here is what I am thinking:

* Start a new section of the board dedicated to FSU/WM exchanges.
* Girls could post in English or Russian.
* Maybe I can find a way to easily link a web-based machine translation so that guys could gain a BASIC understanding of what the girls are writing in Russian. If someone notices a problem with translation/interpretation, they could chime in to correct it.

* I really don't want to get into a competition with agencies, but as nearly all the agency owners on this board also offer some free addresses for ladies, maybe this could be a venue for those ladies to interact with WM.

How do you guys feel about this?

Good idea. We have something similar on www.antidate.org/forum - but for guys, girls who are interested can write them directly. (Yes, guys, there are not only bad guys but good ones too, in special section only!) But I think it doesn't need to be for girls only, it must be free space.

As of translation, I think it was Bruno who recommended good translation site  -  www.freetranslation.com

I voted for the first option. This is a cross cultural enterprise so I have no objection to anyone posting in English, Russian or Ukrain's in any section of the board.

Perhaps you could set up a new section - "People Seeking Partners"  where men or women could post their profiles and make contact.

I admire your very light moderation policy.  It is working, so let it be. 

People who demand rules are definitely the first to bitch when they are applied to them!

The posting of personal profiles on the site is just not working out at present.  In the last couple of days we have had both a man and a woman scared away by negative comment. 

If you are going to create a special section of the board where people can post their profiles then I think the profile thread must be LOCKED from comment.

I do not know the technical capabilities of this BBS software but there maybe different implementation options.  Perhaps the topic initiator (in this new section) could choose to lock the thread or not?

We are not fussy here we scare away a lot of people.  We scared away Sterlitz, and Photo Guy, David, the mad Russian,  the older Russian babuska that was early on, probably sensuality thinks we are not too nice  and there was lots more.  

I think most of the people here are nice and mean well and the  comments are well intended but sometimes we are a little tough on people.

I don't think I have made myself clear on this.  I support Dan's light moderation policy.  I don't want to set posting rules for the general sections of the board.  The comment I made was limited to the proposed new section for posting personal profiles. 

If Dan sets up this new section and it is to be successful  then then a "no comment rule" will be necessary otherwise no one will post their profile....

I am sorry Leslie,  I understood what you meant.  I too think Dan should do it the way he is.   I think if there were too much sensoring it would not be good at all.  I agree with your point and any gal who would post her info here would would have a good chance of being ripped apart no matter how nice and sincere she was.  I don't thnk it would work unless it was the way you suggested.   I am not sure that is technically possible though.  I have a forum similar to this on one of my web sites that deals with a totally different subject matter and I don't think I could do it with my vBulletin software.   Perhaps it can be done with the WowBB but I doubt it.

I visit a few other sites that are similar and to be honest I like this one a million times better than the others.   There are a lot of great people here that bend over backwords to help people and there is a lot of great info.   I just see some occassional posts that don't have much consideration for peoples feelings.  Most of these have great intentions and are trying to help keep someone from making a big mistake.   I just think although it is a great site, it could be a bit better if there was more effort to disagree with the idea and not the person.

I agree, posted profiles should be left alone.  We all saw how the claws came out when sensuality posted, it was embarassing.

I use this site for computer translations of text or internet sites.  I read and speak some Russian, but this site saves time of legnthy translations...

I think this is a great Idea, I actually know of several nice ladies that were not for one reason or another my match but I would like to see find a good man.
I have one lady I can post now (with her permission of course).

I think it would be a fine can of worms for Dan and in time a migraine.  There are some pretty venomous posters here who would rip the women apart.  ie: the girl who posted a profile last month was well ripped-up by some.

Possibly the only way it would possibly work is if it was a whole new department with NO REPLY available.  As others have mentioned.  Of course,  in time the scammers would be posting their profiles too,  for free.  Looks like a headache for Dan.  Unfortunately.

Will there be problems>? Maybe but I think the good will out weigh the bad and adjustments can be made as needed to minimize problems.

I think it is a good idea. I met a very nice Ukraine woman as a result of a recommendation from her friend who noticed my post on a forum and another woman who lives in Vladivostok via another reccomendation from her friend.
